Bowyer needs competition with regards the two keepers, if Doyle has been sounded out about a return it will offer good competition between the two of them, it would be interesting because IMO there is little between them.

It’s just a non-starter, Bronco.

To have OD and Doyle both on the books, will leave us stretched.

You either, mutually agree a part settlement with OD and sign a seasoned pro in Doyle, or you keep OD and use the youth/loanee Avenue.

 

Only my opinion BE but I don't think from what Bowyer has seen of O'Donnell he's convinced he would be a regular starter if he had competition, time will tell.

Andrew Davies had no pace whatsoever. But he still had most L2 strikers in his pocket. Killa has played most of his football in the Championship and some in the PL. He's better on one leg than most L2 strikers and would be just the man to captain and organise our team.

 

Not having this comparison, to be honest.

Andrew Davies came when he was 27 years old, and had a full-blooded style. He showed a propensity to get sent off in his earliest days such was his desire to complete heavy challenges, but when he gained full fitness he seemed to focus on throwing himself into aerial challenges.

Whether he had pace or not wasn't a major factor, given his all-or-nothing defensive style.

Kilgallon is far more laid back, possibly more tactful and cerebral, but at 35 he isn't going to be capable of anything like a 28 year old Andrew Davies.

Davo should not have been playing League Two football and it was obvious.

Kilgallon, at best, should be playing League Two football at 35. I also expect that would prove obvious.
