Anderson or Akpan mentioned anywhere ?????

 

Akpan has been linked with Tranmere. Him and his missus have just had a baby and hes from over that way! Its make sense and financially, would help City no end if we got him off the books!

 

Hopefully only a couple of weeks until things start to crystallize.

 

Can Tranny afford to pay him what we do?

 

Who knows apart from the Tranmere chairman. I for one hope they can. Allegedly one of the top 2 earners at our club... those wages could surely be put to better use

 

They might not have to, I believe he signed for 24 months with us if so that will be up in June, if Tranmere offer him a 2 year deal on a little less money it might be more attractive than staying and hoping someone picks him up in the closed season.
Also as he's a scouser going back to a club near his home City might appeal to him.

If Tranmere do want Akpan then I suspect it will be a loan deal to the end of the season with City still paying a part of his wage.

Bloody hell 13, I'm all for being positive but keep it serious

 

We were allegedly linked with Danny Rose at Mansfield in June this year. Hes only got 6 months left on his contract as far as I can see, and is doing well in a struggling side this season. If we dont bring Doyle back and have indeed negotiated a fee with Swindon (rumours circulating £100k) I'd like to see us make a move for him. Hes young, has a good goal return, fantastic in the air

 

We won't be paying transfer fees mate, it'll be free agents and loans unfortunately. I'd be amazed if Bowyer saw a penny of that 100k.

 

Would have been thinking if we were looking for a loan, someone like Danny Hylton might be in the frame, who hasn't featured at all this season for Luton.

 

Striker Ryan Edmundson would be a good loan till the end of the season.
City have shown interest before and it's believed Bowyer and other City backroom staff have watched him play for Leeds under 23s up at Thorpe Arch on more than one occasion.

 

Would he get a game once Donaldson comes back ?.

 

Isn’t he about 4ft tall? He might score a few headers but he definitely isn’t the back to goal striker that we desperately need.

 

I dont think we need any specific back to goal types in all honesty, given that no matter what type of striker we sign, we end up moulding them into back to goal strikers anyway! I think we need a quality striker to compliment Vaughan, and to ensure we play 2 up top to make sure they're not isolated. More to the point, I think Bowyer needs to address the supply line from the wings. That's how we'll get more from our front line

 

In my opinion he would certainly be a young and hungry backup should one of our elder statesman not be available due to injury and fatigue now the pitches are getting heavier on their old limbs.

 

Been told by Leeds fans at work he's very good and would have thought he would have gone to a higher league 1 side, so would be decent.
