The question was asked that he was hoping to sign someone in time to play yesterday and he said "that didn't happen". Now that either means the deal is dead or we didn't get it done in time.

 

Apparently a slight injury. Had trained but wasn't 100% he said on twitter yesterday. Could be back for Sat'di.

One winger be enough. Scannel, Ismael, Wood, Gibson/Colville if needed - plus one more (Buckley)

Also if we in for Devitt forget about a holding MF. Noway we accommodate all these CMs if we are playing a 442.

I would say at this very moment a striker is THE priority. If one of those front two breaks down we are down to Shay and Omari.

I get the sense Colville would go if he could. He just can't find a way out of that clause for the development fee or find someone to pay it!

Anything on a striker? Or are we hoping McCartan will step up, especially of devitt comes in to play the ten role.

 

No love for Buckley from the Bolton lot. They think less of him than we do about Akpan. That’s a worry. There are better options out there. Roberts is getting on and doesn’t have much game time. I’d pass on him too.

 

Go ask Bolton fans their opinion on Donaldson, the response you get won't be good but he's been top notch so far and more goals to come IMO. Footballs a funny game, look at Josh Morris, never got a chance really here so City fans wouldn't have much of an opinion... Doing ok now!!

 

Tbf I doubt Wigan, Sunderland or Pompey thought a lot of Vaughan....

Liked Greg Leigh, I think he was a little unfortunate that he was behind Meredith otherwise he'd of been first choice.

 

Hindsight wonderful tbf. But selling Meredith for £400k and keeping Leigh as first choice would have been a smart move that summer.

Agree about Morris. But never got the love in for Leigh. As for saying we should have sold Meredith and kept Leigh, totally disagree

 

Well one left for nowt a year later (and was a prick). And the other has gone on to play in Dutch top flight and now in SPL.

 

Playing in the SPL means about the same as playing in league 1 or 2 in England, not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Wouldnt swap Connor Wood for Leigh to be honest.

 

Let's agree Leigh has bettered himself than Bradford City. Top flight Dutch football, now trips to Celtic Park, Ibrox and a little European adventure. Aberdeen are a much bigger club than us.

 

I'd be surprised if much happens in the immediate future. Transfer windows are always the same. Players and clubs hang on as long as they can for the best deals then someone knocks over the first domino and it all ends in a frenetic last 48 hours.
