If he doesn't sign for us I would rather he sign for a club in a higher league to prevent any of our rivals from getting him.

 

He'd be a a good addition for whoever's gets him. If it's not us then I'm sure we'll have other good options. And in scannell we already have one of the best wide men in the division.

 

Because for a 3rd choice striker, I'd like a pacey one instead of a player like Doyle as I think they're better impact players. As it is, Doyle is here so we have to make do but if he leaves I think we should add a different option which we don't have rather than go like for like and have another poacher along with Vaughan.

 

I am sure they will have gauged the chances of him signing for us if indeed we are serious bidders and have other irons in the fire

I'd actually like a pacy striker in addition to the 3 were have. We definitely need some pace up top though so I'd agree that's one area we could look at if others move on.

 

Midfield should be priority now we need another good one in central midfield haven't seen us linked with anyone in that department

 

Plymouth got 500k off Rotherham for Ladapo. They’re a big club in L2 themselves and with the Lowe link, it’d be a shock if he went anywhere else than Plymouth. With them losing Carey, too, they’ll need a big signing to keep fans quiet!

That's a good point that many seem to overlook. If Scannell was not already on our books and - now as a league 2 club - we signed him for the forthcoming season then that would probably be one of the biggest statements of intent from any club in this division. Be happy we already have one of the best wingers in the division - if he stays fit (cough, splutter)

 

Good point. I think that’s where he’ll end up. I had wondered whether the location might be problematic for him but it doesn’t seem to be.

 

Akpan may do a half decent job as long as he isn't made to play defensive midfield which he is incapable of, reeves if he regains fitness and form too. However there's too many ifs and buts so I agree there's nobody who I'm happy with in that position currently.

 

Anderson will do well for us this season

 

I can see Doyle starting over Donaldson or Vaughan. A lot of fans seem to have written him off, but he’ll bag goals for fun in this league - I just hope it’s with us.

To move there I'd want a 3 year contract as you would have to shift your family, as too far to pop back and see the family. Maybe he'd be willing to rent and not see much of his young family? Mind you that is a issue all footballers and their families face I suppose. Sign him and we'd mind end up like Luton for the odd game where we rack up some cricket scores. Attack, attack, attack
