I struggled to work out what his best role was. Watching him as an out and out winger it looked like he needed specific coaching with his approach play, his pace got him to good positions but then reminded me more of a quick full back than a skilful winger.,

 

Agree with you, he's shown something to work with though. Still only 21!

Hanson has been poor for the past 4 seasons. His injury record has to be a concern for any club. I wouldn’t want us to sign him and I agree his best years are behind him.

Doyle is of the same age and although his own form has been better than Hanson’s, I don’t agree that it’s so significantly better that it warrants a comment like “he’s (Hanson) not fit to lace his (Doyle) boots”....!

Well I dont know about anyone else, but I dont think Hanson is fit to lace Doyle's boots.....

 

If he comes back into the fold, I dont think Bowyer will use him at full back. He's not big enough.

 

Dont think Ismael is a bad signing if we keep scannell tbh but I'm more interested in us building a solid defence after last season's horror show of defending. You can always have flare players who are inconsistent in your team as long as the spine of the team is strong, that is the most important thing to address this window

 

and to be fair he came in against barnsley who are decent and Hopkin cocked up his team that day so harsh to judge him on that performance

 

I thought he was ok in the Barnsley game, he got to every header, made some errors, and he was playing in a weird formation at the back, so nobody knew what they were doing.

 

Remember when we was in for Tom Taiwo but was too skint to pay the underage fee? He's had to retire at 29 due to injuries

That Barnsley game proved Hopkin was clueless. Throwing a young lad in on his debut in an unfamiliar position, changing the formation of a team that had regained a bit of form. Utterly clueless.

 

We still haven't replaced Todd or McElhone, preseason starts in just over a week and there's no structure in terms of a backroom team. Pathetic.

 

I'd imagine that those decisions will also hinge on which of the big earners we shift on. He might end up having to use Drury as his number 2.

 

God help us if that's the case.
