Sure there's a couple of week yet, plenty of time don't get your knickers in a twist. What impact would an assistant have at this point? GB is identifying his targets not the assistant..

 

Surely managers speak to at least their assistant before bringing in players? Even if it's just to use them as a sounding board?

Not having his backroom in place over a month after signing the two year deal is, imo, massively worrying.

 

Aye, go tell that to Darrell Clarke at Walsall or Ryan Lowe at Plymouth, who've appointed 2 or 3 coaches since getting the jobs.

 

It has your right, and nobody complained when Duke was doing the coaching for McLaughlin... We were an utter shambles under ER so I don't expect to see a repeat but my point was I'm sure we are busy sorting something out.

They can identify targets together and know what they will then have to work with

If GB feels competent enough to make decisions on his own without a sound board and with the experience he has in the FL then I'll back him to make the right choice.

I agree he should have some staff but it's not enough to start posting shambles etc etc, we saw what a real shambles was under ER and it's not even close. We already have a full pre season sorted which is the complete opposite of last season.. As for the staff being sorted we don't know do we, GB might be waiting for a move elsewhere to happen to trigger a bit of a merry go round.

All I' m saying is to start screaming shambles after going through last season is OTT.

Did you not see last pre season? So far I'd say it's going ok and I'm sure we'll see an announcement soon...

 

Bowyer stated that Todd would still be helping him regarding recruitment when Todd left. We are 2 weeks into June and have signed 4 players plus Devine has signed a new contract , we didn’t have a manager this time last season, so some need to relax and stop panicking.

 

He's doing ok so far isn't he? More players through the door than usual at this time of year and a full pre season confirmed, better than last year. Is it a shambles or like my original point is it an over reaction...

 

Nail on head mate, shambles already.. I think not.

 

By comparing it to an absolute shit house of a pre season last season, which resulted in our relegation, and quite possibly the worst city side for a couple of decades at least, does not mean it’s ok.

We should be learning and putting right the mistakes of last year. Instead we seem to be trudging on and just accepting it’s ok that all our coaching staff leave and the one that does remain is a big part of the failure and where we find ourselves now

We could go out and get in other coaching staff, but we already had them in the building in Todd and Taylor. Why are we not ahead of the pack with that already in place? Instead we might be playing catch up again

 

I don't think its an over reaction to be concerned that our coaching staff is woefully under staffed at this point. no assistant coach, no GK coach, no conditioning coach.. it's not ideal. especially, when, with Bowyer in charge of recruitment, you'd like him and his staff to be assessing these players together.

it's easy to say its an over reaction when you are trying to paint people as being negative about everything and never happy, but like it or not, this is a concerning situation.

Blown my point up a little bit but the original point was that calling it a shambles is OTT, and it is. What you said about last pre season highlights what I'm saying surely? Last seasons pre season was a true shambles and not even close to this season, we are streets ahead.

For all we know the staff could be agreed just waiting for something to be confirmed, it's not always black and white in football is it?

 

Last pre season was a shambles because our then "fitness coach" didn't get the players anywhere near fit for a 50 game season. This season we don't even have a fecking fitness coach. Do you want Bowyer to be responsible for that as well?

 

I said it's not a shambles, and it is better than last year and if you read my posts I said we do need to get staff but read what you fancy eh?

 

Streets ahead in what regards? By having a few games lined up? Jeez, you're way too easily pleased.
