We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Tom Elliott - on loan from Salford City!

The experienced frontman arrives at the Utilita Energy Stadium on a deal until the end of the 2021/22 season.

At 6ft 4ins, Leeds-born Elliott began his career with Leeds United having graduated from the Thorp Arch academy, and has more recently served spells at the likes of Millwall, AFC Wimbledon and Cambridge United.

The former England youth international has 49 appearances to his name for the Ammies, since signing in January 2020.

He said: “I am delighted to be here at a great club with a huge fanbase, and am just looking forward to getting the ball rolling and getting some games played.

“I remember playing at Valley Parade a few weeks ago and the team put plenty of crosses into the box, which I will try to feed off to get as many goals as I can.

“I am a big, strong, physical presence and can just hopefully help the team get up the table towards the promotion spots.

“The boys got a good win against Walsall and we are looking to keep that going. I cannot wait to get out there and help take the team up the league.”

City manager Derek Adams added: “Tom is a player I have known about for many years, so we are pleased to be bringing him in on loan until the end of the season, to aid our promotion push.

“He went up to Scotland to play for Hamilton Academical early in his career, and I have tracked his progress for many years since.

“He has the ability to bring others into the game, is good in air and provides a platform for other forward players to excel.

“He wants to score, can run in behind and is a striker who is difficult to play against, so we are looking forward to seeing him in action for us.”

Elliott will wear No.23 for the Bantams and be sponsored by Strasse Porsche. His signing is subject to the relevant EFL and FA clearances.

FFS another 'MEH' signing! We already have two strikers at the club who don't score. All done on the cheap once again. Talk about being 'over sold' a product

Decent loan signing this. He may not be prolific scorer but he is a right handful and as different qualities to Cook.

Be good to see them play together and go with 4-4-2, but doubt Adams will do that

Hang on, I thought we didn't accept mediocrity at this football club?

Why would Salford allow him to come here.
Maybe they think he’ll weaken us. Seems a strange decision from Bowyer.

We need more goals in the team and we sign another hold up striker who plays with his back to goal. 8 league goals in the last 5 years in 78 appearances. So 1 goal in every 10 games. Just what we need. Unless we are signing another quick striker to play off him or Cook (that also scores regularly) then this is another useless signing.

Other than Cook we have no one who can win balls at the top of the pitch. We've needed a presence for a while and with the other attacking midfielders brought in, he could be a perfect fit for them. We still need another striker in the building though.

I'm guessing that will become clear when we see who Salford bring in to replace him.

This is a depressing signing. Another journeyman, non scoring striker. Every window its the same old crap.

We will be ready for January Sparks told us....

They replaced him before getting rid it seems with Matt Smith last week.

They have Smith, Henderson, Thomas-Asante, Hunter and McAleny who can play upfront.

According to Parker he's scored 4 goals in 11 starts this season. That's not too shabby.

We need a physical presence up front someone who can lead the line and bring cook and our attacking midfielders who can score goals into the game. Whether Elliot is the right one remains to be seen

They just signed Matt Smith from Millwall so Elliott surplus to requirements.
Nothing against the lad himself, but we were supposed to be ready for January to push on. We’ve seen one other team strengthen and we’ve borrowed their cast off.
Sure he brings some qualities to the side that we don’t have but I still don’t see where we’ve addressed the lack of goals issue.

Surplus to requirements at Salford but was playing championship two years ago. Probably an ideal fit for the way we just pump long balls down field.
Let's see what he can do.

If we play him and Cook together ideally we need width for crosses which we haven't been doing. We've been narrow for a while now. Can't see playing both strikers and attacking midfielders.

He might be able to get on the end of the "long" throws that we insist on throwing to the edge of the box.

Depends if he is the only one up front incoming. Do need someone to hold up the ball. But also need someone to put the ball away.
