Well I did a little digging and found that the UK population has grown by 31% in the period 1979-2018 (46.7m to 66.44).

Regarding actual overall attendance averages. This excellent website gives some really detailed information.

In 1979 the 4th division average was 4,182 with City being at 3,924
In 2019 the average 4th div attendance was 4.463-a rise of about 8% over 40 years
I expect we will average around 14,500 this season as a median figure meaning the average attendance at City has grown approx 350% (4,000 to 14,500) in the same period.
That's approx 342% above the average.

I wonder how many other 4th div chairman would like those averages against their clubs name.

You can see how the reduced price ST's from 2008 has had a dramatic affect on attendances. But people still bought them and come to games.

As for the future, promotion will surely help to keep at least the same number? Who knows.

 

It goes without saying a promotion will increase the take up of season ticket next season at £150 possibly to 16/17/18,000, what will be needed IMO is a statement from our owner promising finance to give Bowyer a squad that will be capable of challenging at the top end of league one, the next month could give us an idea of just how serious Stefan is of getting us promoted first time, which is obviously the first step.

 

Keep season tickets as they are for now,once promotion is assured, set a 2 week deadline and up the price to 200 quid.

 

Apart from when we beat Exeter and Swindon at home.

 

You’d rather half watch a game in the comfort of a home instead of actually supporting the team in the ground. That speaks volumes about your opinions on the matches as you don’t even go to the games!!

4 or 5 years ago Mourinho was one of the most sought after managers in world football. He was a winner and most fans wanted him. As time went by his pragmatic style turned many people off, even though he brought home trophies. Add to that the flamboyant style of Pep, he's now a manager that you'd rather serve, so I can half understand @Faithful Bantams point of view.
Unfortunately the Pep's of this world are very few and far between. In Bowyer we have more Jose than Pep.

Mourinho has been a brilliant manager, but I think his playing style and man management style is becoming outdated. Players menalitities are changing and the hard nosed management approach is becoming a thing of the past.

I was being facetious. You obviously don't understand irony. Its a public forum where all opinions count.

And I never said I don't attend games. I attend the vast majority of games at VP, and watch most away games on iFollow. Although, I'm not sure why someone would be less able to offer an opinion of a game they watched on iFollow than they would if they'd attended a game. Most of the time, the view's actually better.

 

What’s misquoting my post got to do with how many pages of this thread you’ve read?

I think the forum has been relatively interesting of late. conflicting views , moaning tw@ts, the likes of yourself playing the “You’re not a proper fan” card, some good insightful discussion
and the odd argument thrown in. Much better than reading page after page after page on travel arrangements and stadium maintenance.

 

The 'you're not a proper fan' card is the weakest form of argument on here.
