We were a successful team, twice making the promotion play offs, then two guys bought the club.
One thought it would be exciting to own a footbal club the other thought he knew better than the professionals within the game....the rest is history, win promotion and they will return, I'm not sure it would be the 20,000 the club are hoping for but at £150 if they are not prepared to pay that they are not fans fairweather or otherwise IMO.

Hardly juvenile I'm in my 76th year! I'm not saying it's good to watch, the football is terrible, but thats football, to be honest the football hasn't been entertaining since McCall was here.

How can having over 14,000 at most games in league 1 not be a positive? And after the worst season i can ever remember. If Bowyer takes us up we can target any fans that didn't renew their season tickets, their reasons for not renewing are irrelevant, its their choice and should be respected regardless of how cheap the tickets may be.

And despite the “entertaining” football we achieved nothing at all.

True, perhaps 'boring' football is the only way to get out of this awful league

We would've gone up that season if we had swapped hanson for wyke in the summer. As it was we went half a season without an adequate striker. That and if the linesman puts his flag up at Wembley.

Hypotheticals I know, but we came pretty damn close to success under Stuart, playing brilliant, entertaining football, with not the best of squads either in comparison to others in league 1 that year.

I dunno, getting to the playoff final in league 1 is a bigger achievement than winning promotion in league 2. Different standards.

I'm sure games will be more attacking once Vaughan has a regular strike partner and we go 4-4-2, we have the players to play that system.

The football this year has been no worse this year than 90% of the 60 odd years I have been following we are playing in the worst fully professional league in the country we started from the worst possible base lost our main attacking midfielder before he had hardly played and our centre forward for three months our strength at the moment is at the back and our aim is promotion so Bowyer in my opinion is on the right lines. When our attacking options improve then maybe we can get on the front foot more

    Change the thread title to
Time to be positive (Mr Bowyer)
Fans would be more positive if HE was
1-0 wins are 3 points granted but we have the players to be
Smashing such teams as Morecambe Carlile Orient etc
We only come alive in the 60th minute lets be more "positive" and play like that from the start rather than the last 30 mins
It's tight at the top goal difference could mean the difference between autos and the lottery of the play offs (which we are too cautious to win)
Yesterday was a good point but with a bit more POSITIVETY from the manager 2 more were there for the taking

I was not questioning your age - Just the mentality, I thought I saw in your post. YES .... I did step back, but I have never truly walked away. MANY things occurred in my life at that time (2001 - 2006) ...... Marriage (My first and only one), a new home, changing jobs/and promotion, becoming a granddad plus a few more.
But Ho !! ............ I'm STILL here, though obviously not as committed as I was in my 42 carefree Bachelor years. :)

The Leeds fans you know aren’t relevant.

Generally speaking if a Bradford fan is having football related banter / debate / discussion / argument with a Leeds or Town fan, the rhetoric from the Leeds/Town fan sounds eerily similar to the rhetoric that you’re coming out with in this thread, constantly digging out ‘your own’ club in a negative demeanour.

Don’t worry lads the league will be won by March.

As we slowly, surely, grind our way onwards. o_O

It might not be pretty but it can be effective.

And I still remember supporters criticising him. Law also got lots of abuse.

The leeds fans I know arent relevant but the fans you know are? I see.

I'm disagreeing. I know several leeds fans in particular. They see us as an irrelevance. Not in a banterous way, they see us in the same way I see Halifax, or Park Avenue. Meh.

I've clearly touched a nerve, but if you want to call out anything I've said that you feel is unreasonably negative, feel free to do so.

I agree. But take Chris Wilder at Sheffield Utd, gained promotion with Oxford. Northampton and Sheffield in league1 and the championship. But his greatest achievement would be keeping them up in the premiership. Same with Parky, got us promotion and a league cup final but for me his greatest achievement was finishing higher each season. McCall was a hairs breath away from greatness.

At the end of the day we all have our gripes about City, but we still keep coming back, and just some time we have great moments to remember and they will come back again, mark my words. Keep the Faith! !
