Agree with this, have at any point since the introduction of GDPR those on City's contact lists been given the opportunity to opt out? They must be given the opportunity to do this in any future contact but if they have'nt opted out the club has a legitimate interest to contact them when they can then opt in or out.

In case of doubt the ICO website has a live chat option, this is usually pretty busy but with persistence you can get through and get a transcript of the conversation for future reference. Alternatively call them, don't lodge a question by email, the reply takes weeks.

Surely when people renew or buy fresh Season Tickets, they could as part of the purchase give their e-mail details and then decide if they want to opt out? Basically you are in until you make a conscious choice to stop.

I got an email in July asking me to update my contact preferences. Not sure who that went out to

GDPR permits you to contact customers if you have a" legitimate business interest". That can be anytime from 2-5 year previous season ticket holders depending on how liberal you want to be in determining your policy.

I want to contact as many people as possible, but the CRM we use has been set up with certain parameters that are restricting sending. I'm talking to the providers to make sure that it's compliant whilst allow us to maximise its commercial potential.

I wish that was the case, but under new GDPR rules, you must positively opt-in in (not out). So this is having a massive impact on the ability to send email/SMS communications

    Mick's a great guy. A hard-working family man.

That picture is from the deal he's signed with Jack Tordoff/JCT 600 which is a great sponsorship for the club.

Quick question about the sponsorship deal. Is that for the shirts next season or the season after. Only asking as an extension was announced in August which was presumed to be for 2019/20 as the 18/19 season had already started and shirts being sold.

The August announcement was for this season. JCT600 have renewed the deal for next year being the 2019/20. Their sponsorship has been extended to include Boardroom Sponsorship.

So we had printed and sold shirts before they extended?

A brand pretty much synonymous with Bradford City, their contribution to the club should not be underestimated. (Oh he's gone now)

The timing of the deal and the release of the information do not always coincide as per last season.

Ah, that makes more sense. They had already signed before hand but the announcement was delayed for whatever reason.

I'm amazed the club does not have a food market outside. Lots of fans come from outside Bradford and sometimes get there early. They should be able to mill about and chat and eat. I have lunch then set off and sometimes catch traffic and get there late but sometimes I'm early and bored. I would probably set off earlier and have late lunch at the ground if there was some decent street fare and socialising. The club probably think they will miss out on ground kiosk revenues but I think it would grow the market. Improving the match day ambience with some food and music outside could actually help sell more match tickets. I grant the weather can be naff but loads of towns have successful Christmas markets. How about a local band on an articulated lorry across the top or side of Burlington street car park facing across the car park and then close the bend of the street itself for food stalls? You'd only lose a few parking spaces and Burlington could still be accessed from Manningham Lane and Thorncliffe. You just would not be able to go through in vehicles. You should be able to get local communities involved in the food stalls and music. The problem would be getting the council to let the club close the bend and then work out how to generate the revenues for the club, say by charging the stallholders and letting people into one stand to buy drinks and use toilets or running a beer tent. If music continued after the game, it would probably ease traffic jams and the club might sell a lot of beer. I'm not sure what the police's attitude would be, though. Maybe they would consider it on a trial basis.

mentioned it yesterday Glenn, if city/season ticket holders log in to their account I think under my details you check the box to confirm you want to receive information from the club - would this help with your communication? Might be worth looking into.

All I can reiterate is that the commercials for the club don't work, nor do they for our current suppliers who have looked at doing this and couldn't make it work at Sunderland.

Accrington does have a fan zone, but they have pouring rights to their drinks. We are restricted by other commercial deals that are very lucrative.

We are having a Supporters Board Meeting in the next few weeks which will include a number of the big supporter's groups. If fans would like to coordinate an initiative, the club would be happy to support it in any way that we can.

Thanks for the response. It comes as no surprise that our current suppliers can't make it work. One day events these days offer stonebaked pizzas, pasta, noodles, german sausages, grilled corn, baked potatoes, hog roasts, stuffed mushroom and peppers, roasted chestnuts, halloumi and roasted veg, and other healthy and vegan options. Bradford has groups that cater for more exotic tastes at melas. We could be offered curry, samosas or kebabs. Our football catering offers stone-age coffee, chocolate, crisps, pies and burgers and hot dogs that need ketchup and mustard to provide any flavour, while cutting about ten years off the average supporters life through heart disease and diabetes. Occasionally, I arrive at the ground hungry, stare at the kiosk menu in despair and walk away with a grumbling stomach. There is not even instant cup soups for us in the winter when were all freezing! Our catering is about 40 years out of date. It would probably be more lucrative if they offered better food and it might attract more (minority and female) fans if the club offered something less prehistoric and more multicultural.

This has been discussed to death over the years. Its all about where the profits are. In an ideal world i'd love to rock up to Valley Parade and munch on a hog roast. Its clear from what has been mentioned by people at the club that the best deal for the club is what we currently have with the contract caterers. I know its cheap shite they serve up but you have to remember your audience. most football fans, Bradford included, couldn't give a monkeys about 'real ale' or fancy nosh, they're quite happy to pay over inflated prices for weak pish like Carlsberg and pies. I wouldn't personally. The curry option is a possibility but you can pick one up 10 minutes walk away if you want one, the profits simply aren't there otherwise it would already be a goer.

I accept your argument but only to a degree. How can our caterers not even have instant soup for freezing fans in winter if they can have instant coffee (which I don't think is very nice and does not seem to sell very well from what I see)? Plonk a bit of hot water in a cup and hand it to you with a stirrer for a fat profit margin - what's the excuse for no soup?

The club might make more on catering but then probably makes less on ticket sales if they can't be arsed to improve the experience of the whole day out.
