The cafe that was available to fans in the once in a million School was a great success and those that used it really miss it.
I know money is tight but if we could find an area where fans for both home and away can get a coffee and hot food pre and post match it would be a great success.

We like many clubs use a third party provider to facilitate ticket management (Talent). This fee is revenue to the provider for the service they provide.

It's similar to Ticket Master. The club doesn't get any revenue from this. I do think it represents good value for the cost involved and the ease of booking, We all remember the good old days of 'Ticket gate' and queuing up overnight in the snow :)

I'm always amazed that people liked to collect tickets. The time, travel cost and hassle factor makes me always prefer delivery, but I'm a lazy git :)

    Hi,

The cleaning is largely done by volunteers. In fact, one of my happiest moments was enquiring as to what the sign in sheet 'Community Volunteers' was for.

I discovered that we have a group of people who give up their time to help ground staff and the cleaning operation. Bradford City Disability has a number of people there most days. Matty Groves Hemmingway is always the first to greet you with a big smile.

They do an incredible job but we need more help.

I want to promote 'The Team Makers' as a concept.

The Team behind the team very much modelled on the Game Makers concept at the London Olympics. Heroes like Matty should be held up as inspiration to others and profiled on our website and at club events.

There are lots of people who don't work and have skills that the club would love to embrace.

If you'd like to be a Team Maker, PM me and I'll pass your details on to Paula Watson who heads up Club Operations.

I’m sorry mate but we live in a world where online purchases make up the majority of sales around the world, where 3rd parties often administer websites and bookings on behalf of the supplier, yet I never see ‘web handling fees’ anywhere else.
It’s irrelevent that the club don’t make revenue from it. Don’t use the convenience factor to justify banging £1.50 on the cost of each ticket.
Do you think it’s appropriate that if someone buys 10 tickets online that it should cost £15 extra?

It is rare online to be even charged postage these days never mind a disgraceful handling fee, And as above should be one charge per order not for each item, That is profiteering at the fans expense

    Do you read?

Bowyer has never said the players are wearing suits. He wants to wear a suit on the touchline. Not difficult

But it's no different to buying tickets online for a concert or gig, they charge you a fee for that.

So you’re unfamiliar with the ticketing approach for theatre, cinema, sporting events - basically any entertainment event requiring a ticket?

Anywhere the ticketing is effectively outsourced, such as with us here, will see this type of fee - it’s how the 3rd party supplier makes their money in providing the service.

City will have presumably decided its more cost-effective. Whether City would still try and charge a fee if it was all in house is another matter.

Yes of course I’ve theatre, concert tickets and not everyone charges a fee.
It’s one on those ‘services’ that cost absolutely nothing to provide once the system is setup.
Maybe Bradford City should pay the company’s service costs upfront so its fans don’t get ripped off week after week when purchasing online.
Doesn’t affect me too much as mostly I can collect from ticket office.
My comment was aimed directly at @Brackenrigg@Brackenrigg who wants ideas to put more bums on seats.
Now if I’m a casual fan who visits the website and wants 4 tickets, be loathed to pay £25 per ticket plus £6 ‘handling fee’ and £1.50 postage. I simply wouldn’t bother if I was just a casual fan.
Imagine if you turned up at the turnstile with your £25 and was told there was a ‘cash handling fee’ , you’d walk away wouldn’t you

Theybcould get rid of all the fees and just build it into the ticket price. Therefore no handling fee, no postage cost but a ticket now costs £27.50 for everyone, cash, online, ticket office or phone.

Am led to believe it was run by the school with volunteers serving etc, Was told it was shut on advice by the council until the staff had appropriate certificates for food handling etc and the school decided it was not worth it.

Hi, I loved that cafe too, and 1911 when it served lunches during the week.

The club franchised out 1911 for non-match days and that wasn't financially viable.

We outsource the catering because the club gets a better net financial return. I spoke to the Catering Manager at the game yesterday to explore the cafe concept. He said that they've looked at it previously but numbers simply don't work for them given the staffing costs.

Thank you for that. It’s a pity because the million to one cafe and the cafe the club ran in the old shop was well frequented and was a great meeting place for fans.
Some of our competitors have really good supporters club venues which welcome visiting fans Rochdale is a good example but I suppose our location doesn’t lend itself to that except on match days
