They're both impressing with the manor of how the team is playing, set up, and also how they come across when they speak both pre- and post match.
The term interim is the title of their role, the club and fans know this means unless there's a complete slump in results and we're hurtling back towards the trap-door, the job is theirs until the season's end.
Their mandate is keep us up, anything extra is a much welcome bonus.
From the position we were when the duo took the reins, a lower/mid-table finish would earn any interim manager a two-year deal.
A top ten finish, for a side that was hurtling to the foot of the table and we need to be giving the M&C duo a couple of years deal just before season's end, there's other very poor northern clubs out there, crying out for cheap leaders that can produce immediate improvement in results.
It will be interesting to see how the duo and team respond to a blip of a couple of defeats ( not that I want any defeat !)
However, what I've seen and heard I've no concerns that they couldn't steer us through that, after all, they took us out of several straight defeats with a squad with less strength that the one they're assembling.
They're endearing to listen to in their monotone local Yorkshire accents, they think closely at what they want, the players are totally on board with what they want, this shines through in players post match interviews.
We had great times with Parky, some results that's never likely to be repeated.
However, what's emerging here in these very very early days, is a spirit I've not seen since Kammy/Jewell and Jewell/Hutch
Football is as fickle as the British weather, and fortunes can change in a breath, I take nothing ever for granted.
But, the last lucky chairman we had was Mr Richmond ( believe me, that fella for 6years had the midas touch)
Maybe, Mr Sparks ( ok he's CEO), has just lit the spark this club has needed for a long time.
We'll see

saw this as a good time to show some graphs Ive been making over the past couple of years. The chart on the left is inspired by @River_City_Bantam graphs. Shows where we are currently. The other graph shows our current progress with other seasons.

For me, it’s when the inevitable loss comes and how we react to it that will define our season.

After Barrow we have some really tough fixtures away at Exeter improving Scunthorpe and Salford get a good points all out of those fixtures and it could be interesting. But I am just happy we have put a good distance between us and relegation

It's a remarkable turn around. As Trueman and Sellars took the reins, many fans were worried about the very really prospect of us losing our football league status as we plunged into the bottom 2.
Whilst I think talk of the playoffs now is a bit premature, surely, the pair now deserve to be rewarded with an offer of permanent roles? What more can they do to impress.Keefly Bantam, Henno, JonButterfield and 1 other person like this. -
I'd say if we can get 7+ points from the next 3 games then it's on, otherwise we leave ourselves too much to catch up, it's amazing where even talking about this though tbf.

Playoffs is still a possibility with this upturn in form, this is a poor league and confidence is sky high. Half a season left, there would be a fair few 6 pointers for sure, we've done it before coming from nowhere to sneak in at the death.

28 points on the board.
The lowest points total that achieved playoffs was Lincoln in 05/06 with 66 points. So we'd need a further 38 points (1.65 a game). Our current form over 7 games is 2.1 points a game.
The highest points total that achieved playoffs was Accrington Stanley in 15/16 on 85 points. So we'd need a further 57 points (2.47... Call it 2.5 a game)
In 12/13 WE were promoted through the playoffs on a total of 69 points. So we'd need a further 41 points (1.8 a game)
I think the post above has actually made a mistake. The average for 6th place is 71.1 points (So we'd need 43 points or 1.9 a game for our remaining 23 games).
So whilst it's difficult, if we maintain current form it's doable. I need to work out what the average is for 7th place and then I'll have a better idea of where we stand.

Jesus this league is dreadful. I don’t rate anybody in this league and this season has been a massive missed opportunity.

I've done my calculations with all seasons at 46 matches, pro-rating where necessary, and from that come up with 71.1 points as the average for 7th place in the playoff era. It's not precise, but gives a good general idea of what's needed. As I mentioned earlier, I'd love to see us have that sort of second half that leads us to the playoffs, but I personally wouldn't bet chocolate buttons on that, let alone money!

As for the season, it's telling that sides like Oldham are willing to sell their best players to their rivals while we're in a position to buy from ours.
Hopefully the massive criticisms of last season's lazy and ambitionless wheelings and dealings have had an effect. It might turn out we've left it too late for a play off push, likely even, but this January window needs to be a sign of things to come. These next few years there are going to be very few clubs at this level unaffected by the last couple of seasons - we should be looking to make a serious impression by swimming past the driftwood of which there will be plenty. We should make it our aim to be in the Championship within five years.
If Stefan is going to back this club then I don't see any reason why that's unrealistic. So many clubs capitulating or struggling on and/or off the field that it would be criminal for a well-funded, well-run club (even with a healthy balance sheet) to fail to progress.Doodle and Ashton Bantam like this. -

They're top by a country mile on points-per-game. They're the only team that has won more than half their games, and they haven't even scraped that stat either. They've got change from that deal.Stoneski and Bantam Begins like this.
