Couldn't agree more. I can forgive a certain amount of ineptitude if there's some fight shown, this absolute shower are going down with a whimper and a shrug of the shoulders. I've seen some very poor City teams and performances over the years but rarely, if ever, witnessed a team that doesn't appear to care less.

I think, if you actually bothered to go to games, you'll find that on the whole the loanees are pretty much the only ones contributing on a match day.Crucian Carp, trevor, Wakefield Bantam and 7 others like this. -

I disagree, in the main.
I was at Walsall and I felt the players gave it their all. They absolutely dominated the home team, it was frankly like a training exercise we were so on top (red card helped, granted). Butterfield ran the game, as you'd expect. Everything good came through him. But we didn't get the goals our dominance suggested we should have.
However, we were defensively appalling, especially from set-plays. Did they switch off? It looked that way. The third goal is horrendous. It should never have even got to being a corner for them. Chicksen could have cleared a long ball, but he tried bringing it down and failed to do so, they won the corner. And then chuff knows what ROD is doing in goal. It's a great delivery, but that's his ball to punch.
There's quality in this side, in midfield especially, and we've some decent enough second strikers. What we don't have are proper wingers who will take a man on, or get back to help their full-backs.
We don't have a proper target man who will hold the ball up to allow our quality midfielders to push on and feed off seconds.
But worst of all, I don't rate any of the defenders, except Mellor who's not been available.
Still enough decent options in the right system and playing the appropriate style to finish fifth bottom. Let's hope Drury gets a tune out of them on Saturday before the new man arrives.
9 times out of 10 we win that game on Saturday. Not having it that they don't try/care. They just failed. It wasn't a lack of effort, in my opinion.
Let's pull together as one and assess the bullshine in the summer, once we've stayed up. -
Pretty damning comment on WOAP in terms of the players "I deplore this group of players and the pathetic performances they’ve delivered for most of the season. I can’t wait to see the back of some of them"
I sensed DH was at the end of his tether (and his reign at City) after Saturdays game when he said the players owe him and the supporters - and hinting he and his staff are working their socks off but not including the players in that comment.
Its a sad day that it has not worked out for David and I have no doubts he has put his heart and soul into this - wish him all the best for the future.

The movement off the ball ahead of Butterfield was virtually none existent. Like Fleetwood, Walsall had the discipline to condense the front four and we had zero idea of how to combat that. In my opinion, absolutely unacceptable given the enormity of the game.
Our movement off the ball is poor. It happens every throw in and dead ball situation. We rarely gain anything from them and often end on the back foot.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Briggus, pns1945, The Granby Mullet and 3 others like this. -
Look no further than the Doyle interview to find out what's wrong with this team. I'd be embarrassed that yet another manager has been unable to anything with them yet he bleats on about Hopkin doing the right thing as if it's all down to one man that we're in this mess.
He should have offered a grovelling apology to the fans for being part of a team that no one can manage and kept his head down until they come out on Saturday and give us some sort of reason to believe they are genuinely professional footballers.TallinnBantam, loz, Dennis and 3 others like this. -
This just shows the value of Parkys rules on signing players, He always said he did a lot of looking in to a players character and would he fit in the dressing room before signing a player, He said it only takes one bad apple to destroy a dressing room, Seems no one learnt the lesson.

Caddis wasn't great - but he was better than the keeper and the rest of the back 4. He's one of a very few who can hold his head high this season, along with Ball, O'Brien and Payne - and those three aren't even ours.

I was worried about Hopkin abandoning ship but after reading the T&A this morning I'm not concerned anymore now its been officially confirmed that Drury KNOWS football.

I’ve been told of some of the shenanigans that went on in the dressing room and team bus after the Walsall game, which served as a final straw for Hopkin. I won’t elaborate on here, but that lack of character has been evident all season. That lack of honesty and professional pride is why, when we concede 1, we usually concede 3, 4 or 5, and why we’ve only taken points from one game where we’ve gone behind all season.
They’re cowards and frauds. Yes, we have a misbalanced squad and yes Hopkins tactics were odd at times, but if more players gave a shit and were prepared to do the ugly stuff properly, we wouldn’t be going down.Stop hovering to collapse... Anthony O'Connor is a perfect example of a 'Championship Manager' mentality signing.
His attributes mean literally NOTHING if the guy is, as has been alleged, the self-serving, back-slapping failure that he has appeared to be in his BCAFC tenure.
Rahic didn't sign characters, he didn't sign a team, he signed individuals, most of them losers, and developed a losing team.
Idiot.
There's much more to a signing than 'are they good'. 'Do they fit', 'are they leaders', 'can they they lift a team', these ideas were alien to a mong who just wanted to sign a load of players and spend too much money.
Then again, we have fans who would appoint Steve Evans, so signing individuals who are suitable clearly isn't an issue for them either... Rahic isn't alone...Bronco, Briggus, Faithful Bantam and 2 others like this. -

I don't think the issue on Saturday was effort going forward. It the defending and the ease with which Walsall scored, all easily avoidable goals with effort etc. The way Walsall defended should have been what we should have done. They did give it a go and I think they care but had shot themselves in the foot with the goals they conceded, bit like Fleetwood, concede a stupid goal then up against it.
They are kind of all we've got for the next 12 games so we need to still support themWakefield Bantam, Bronco, MyBradford and 1 other person like this. -

I'm not even sure it's just about confidence. Out biggest problem, by far, is that we can't defend. And that's because 3 of our back 4 is shit. I'm not sure there's much a new manager can do about it without replacing players.
