Spare a thought for groundstaff. February's rainfall comfortably broke the record and the slightly unusual run of NW winds interacting with the big main stand has probably pulled extra down onto the pitch on top of that - and that's coming on the back of a very wet autumn and winter.

McCall wants talks at the end of the season about sorting the pitch out. Good luck with that Stuart

Of the two, could Gibbs have been the better owner? Clearly knows how to get the best out of a deal. Maybe he might buy the club back at the end of the lease, having earned a pretty penny for his family pension fund.JudgeMental and Fordy117 like this. -
Clearly just relaying it in the summer isn't enough.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...JudgeMental and Inspector like this. -

The drainage done two years ago did its job or the game would have been off. How many posters said before the game and indeed the Stevenage midweek game that there is no way the game will be played. We haven't had a single game called off due to the weather since the drainage was done in summer 2018 . The FA and EFL don't like games called off and us being the only one as was the case when our home game against MK Dons 2 years ago was called off in last minute and even Avenue were able to play. Unfortunately the surface was neglected at first by Rahic and last summer by Rhodes and hopefully this will be rectified.

I can't believe anyone really thinks this season is going to resume, in any meaningful way, anytime soon.
Sure, they might find enough volunteer players to cobble together one or two televised, behind closed door matches, but this season (and almost certainly next season) is over.Stop hovering to collapse... There is also the lack of sunlight in certain areas of the pitch, the main stand is responsible for that. This requires special equipment. The light rig we have is nowhere big enough, we need at least two to cover the pitch rather than patches. Southampton have one, it is enormous several covering the whole pitch and going constantly. Obviously we won’t be able to afford that, not only in buying it, but running it. That is how the prem overcome lack of light on the pitch.
