The Pitch…..what can be done about it?

Apologies if this has been posted already, but why hasn’t the company who did the work in 2018 been reprimanded and forced to sort out the issues? 10 year guarantee, unless the small print in their T&C’s states something the club has reneged on?

 

Is this a wind up what are you on about ? my post really has ruffled your feathers for some reason, talk about an overaction chill M8.

 

Isn't the drainage fine though? I think the problem is we played on it when it was soaked but because it drained well it wasn't waterlogged as such (Stockport game).

Does the guarantee cover us for the actual turf?

 

To be honest, I don't think anybody knows what the reasons are because of the clubs failure to keep us updated! Just leads to speculation then

Good for you never lose your sense of humour especially on a forum, I believe it was posted by a Doncaster fan with regards the pitch and bringing a pitch fork.

 

Having been sense of humour is good thing, as well as being able to reflect and laugh at oneself .

 

Its the only thing that gets you through a saturday afternoon at VP. If you didn't laugh you'd cry.

 

The guarantee will only cover the drainage work they've done. The issue this season hasn't been drainage, it has been delayed pitch work in the summer and a broken sprinkler which meant the grass didn't get enough water when growing. Added to that we've had the Liverpool game which was played on a freezing pitch and the Stockport game which only went ahead as the drainage worked really well. Once all of that happen the grass was destroyed on the majority of the pitch which will make the pitch more susceptible to waterlogging. There's also been an element of bad luck in the timing of fixtures in the middle of one of the wettest winters like if the Notts County game was 6 hours earlier it most likely would've gone ahead.

 

Can’t wait until we ground share with Halifax.

Watching their game tonight at the Shay and the pitch makes ours look like a bowling green.

 

They could start by not letting hundreds of people trample on it at the start of "March of The Day"

They must have poor drainage at the Shay as they’ve had loads of games off including the night we played Forest Green.

 

We can start a 15+ page thread about it a couple of months after we've moved in. Anyway presume we can replace with artificial once we're in the NL? Problemo solved

Conspiracy theory here. The RL Challenge cup match was played there yesterday. Were they preserving the pitch for the "bigger match" ?

 

Just seen this following the postponement of Rangers away game at Dundee tonight. It is the second time the fixture has been called off, and the 5th this season at their ground. Rangers have publicly shamed Dundee and called them unprofessional. They are now facing disciplinary proceedings, triggered by having 5 games called off in a season. Does anyone know if there is a similar rule in this country? I’m pretty sure either crawley or barrow have had their fair share of postponements this season?
