Colchester have had their last 2 home matches postponed for a waterlogged as well as the opening day of the season so their pitch isn't good. Watching the Salford game last night their pitch was far from perfect with a lot of bare patches. As it's already been said on here many times the issue we will always have is the big stands which the vast majority of clubs in this league don't have.

He should have plenty of experience channelling away large quantities of water. Get Fordy in as a special advisor.

I think we need to move on from this and forget about it as conversations are going round in circles. We know that there were issues with installation in the summer in terms of timings and a broken sprinkler system. Added to that this will be most likely one of the wettest seasons of all time coinciding with bad timings of games like the Liverpool and Stockport game which seem to have done the damage and once that damage was done there was no reversing it.
It's also being made out like this is a long term issue when really this season is a one off. Since we've done the big work on the pitch after the 19/20 season the pitch has looked very good even at the end of the season.

It’s one thing being waterlogged as that’s temporary but completely different that once the water is gone that we are left with a sandpit with next to zero grass on it.

And most of the damage to the pitch was caused by a pitch that on another day with another referee is probably deemed unplayable but because the drainage did well a some of the water had drained leaving a very wet pitch

You are trawling back a bit there M8. The post was of the time, ie: just before the Doncaster game, the debate on here and the match thread about the state of the pitch and Doncaster's previous moaning about their injuries from the Bristol Motor thingy.

Don’t worry, he has a habit of trawling through old posts to find the content he needs to meet his narrative.

And that is because we have played on it whilst waterlogged, getting the matches on with the use of sand.

Steve you know that for fact or just QAnon speculation which somehow helps a narrative.
The pitch is crap due to weather, location and playing circumstances not a QAnon conspiracy story .
What would you have , £3m spent on digging the pitch up and stabilising via underpinning the stadium , which we don’t own, or £3m spent on the playing budget. One or the other. You choose.

It was a perfectly genuine question Kev and no dig at anyone except a tongue in cheek comment about sparks in my last sentence. All I was asking was do we still have the wheel along lights to help grass grow

no idea what your point is, or why you are trying to have an argument. It’s Friday, I am enjoying my 3 day weekend and really cannot be arsed biting over feck all

It seems Colchester's pitch has got so wet it has shrunk.
    https://www.bescotbanter.net/2024/03/colchester-united-granted-permission-to.html
That suggests the League may well have been looking closely at our pitch as well. I wonder what conclusions they have drawn for us.

It may have been posted a while ago but my point is still valid, do we care what fans of other club think/feel/say, I certainly don't we have enough worrying about Bradford City and why we are not doing as well as many expect.

Adding some facts to the tongue - in -cheek narrative . That’s the choice we have. The £3m is, however , a guess on my part it could be treble that for all we know.

Spend £m’s on something we don’t own to save a couple of games a year . Would you add an extension to a house you don’t own for the sake of painting the front door? ;)

If it worries you so much what other fans say about City issues perhaps you can start a thread with a poll and ask the question? Or ask the Mods to ban any mention of any other club news that relates to City on this site
