We recruit right, not a 3rd time lucky option Bronco. You don’t stick with something because of fear of change.

As with every managerial appointment you look through their CVs and make the appropriate decision, Grayson, Hopkin and Bowyer all had promotions on their CV Grayson and Hopkin a couple I believe, so although I understand that you try to recruit the right candidate there is an element of luck in every appointment if not every club would be successful, no bigger club that Manchester United have got it wrong with every appointment they've made since Sir Alex retired.
With regards fear of change don't you think the club have had enough managerial merry go rounds since Parky walked, 4 games into a new season and I assume you want McCall sacked, then we advertise the position await for "out of work" managers/coaches to get in touch then go through them all and appointing one who I guarantee will have at least one sacking on his CV, appoint him give him time to suss out the strength of the squad knowing he can't add to it before January with limited finance and expect promotion because I believe that's the boards aim.

when the club signed Ismail (and Donaldson) didn't they agree a contract that included the option of +1 year 'in the players favour'?

therefore at the end of the initial deal the players can exercise the option of the extra year and the club can't do anything about that? another amateur move.

Thank goodness it wasn't McCall who signed and ask the board for those terms written into Zeli and Clayton's contract we'd have never heard the last of it, wouldn't you agree ?.

apart from this time no CVs were looked through, the job wasn't advertised and nobody was allowed to apply and go through the interview process. Rhodes simply sacked Bowyer at 9am and employed McCall at 10am - the whole process of that appointment screams of doing a mate a favour.

probably. still doesn't distract from the point that currently we're going backwards.

And I've explained why that might have been the situation at the time, very similar as to the appointment of Grayson no one else was interviewed, a quick fix the board hoped would give the club "the new manager bounce", it didn't work for Grayson and unfortunately with Covid we'll never know if McCall could have scrapped a play off place.

Currently !!!!, where have you been since the sacking of McCall on 5 February 2018, surely you remember the likes of Grayson (Mr Championship manager) couldn't get a positive result from the squad McCall had kept in the top 7 before his sacking, then the great appointment of Collins, that was embarrassing at the time, the vast majority of fans saying he was out of his depth which turn out to be true after 6 games I believe.
Enter Dave Hopkin tough talking no shit manager from Scotland that went well, enter Bowyer still no success, enter McCall as a quick fix hoping he could still make the play offs.

I wonder if McCall would benefit from
    a different No2 ?

    Keep trying same methods without
    success,as the saying goes......

Are you happy with this indifferent form and getting outclassed in L2 , absolute crap team, weak signings, and rubbish brand of football which is dull as dishwater. Whether he goes or not I’ve seen enough of the garbage served up to know it will be another season of mediocrity.

his current track record in spell 3 is the worst win percentage in his ENTIRE managerial career. 4 winS out of 14 , 28 percent.

interesting reading comments about tactics here when he got the bullet recently.

We can only dream of someone like Graham Alexander, doing the business at Salford.

See your point but if another No2
came in and success ensued I
would think most fans would prefer
that but, a change will have to come
one way or another if things continue
    as they are.

If change does come,it needs to be more
comprehensive than just manager and No2.

Yeah something has to change at the top
    or the decline will worsen
Still think Stuart is a better No 2
Him and Warnock were a good "team"

How has Alexander done the job he has just been sacked because despite having spent a lot of money Salford have struggled and finished below Us last year.

Scunny fans seemed to have thought same as a few of us, poor tactical nous, poor recruitment, but a really nice bloke.

I would take Graham Alexander now if he was interested

A bit different reaction from Scunthorpe fans regarding the sacking of McCall. When he gets sacked at City the fans react as if Bambi has been shot.
