2 pitches for our exclusive use?!
The back pitch past the railway bridge is used only in the summer and the front one next to Harrogate Road isn't protected during the vital summer months after relaying the sand and applying the seed.
Can you imagine dog walkers and kids running up and down and parents sat chilling in the dugouts have a cig at any other professional clubs training facilities in the run up to pre season training??
On top of that those who do the rehab training away from the 1st team do it on pitch at the side that's constantly covered in dog poo and Sunday League teams play on it every week.
I've even seen us doing fitness training on there and drills on it pre season. It's not even flat!!

I like the idea of the injured players working elsewhere.
Get Young , Stubb and Pattinson down to my office for 7.30 tomorrow morning 9 hours on site with the rest of my lads, is just what they need.

I mentioned the video, hoping people would look it up and watch it.
The facility's are far and away above anything we have had in the past.
Its time this "we train at a school" rubbish was put to bed once and for all. They are more than good enough for where we are presently.

It was shot at pre- season training last summer i believe.
I would certainly love to go to work in those condition's.
It would be great to have are own premises, but that is not likely to happen any time soon.
What we do have are more than good enough for lower league footballers.

Maybe it is sweeping statement on the weather. How many soft tissue injuries have we had over the last few seasons- could be the players, could be programming but I would bet any money some contributing factors are the faculties - whether that’s due to general condition or playing on 4g (which they’ve done numerous times due to weather).

You are still digging that great big hole by just ignoring peoples advice or is that just a “ sweeping statement” too?
Show the forum a L1/2 club with better training facilities all on one site. There’s a decent challenge to keep you occupied ?

I suspect that @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler knows more about the internal machinations of all things Bradford City than you (or I) could ever dream of. If he says we have two exclusive pitches I'm more than happy to believe it. Just because you've seen them running on the front pitch doesn't mean that's what we use all the time.

Why not just accept the word of an insider rather than joining the "we train at a school" brigade.

Now to be fair, they do have excellent training facilities (for league one)

I believe the concrete wall around the 5G had to go up for insurance purposes (I'm not 100% sure on this). The complete enclosure you speak of is over concrete netball courts that city wont use for anything of real purpose.

As others have said I would be shocked if there is many if any training grounds in L2 that are better. The its a school narrative is boring in all honesty.

No chance, as has been said, we don't train on the pitches near the river. The facilities are better than most in this league. It has to be down to 1) Poor medical screening when signing & 2) overwork on physical aspects of training 3) Bad luck

This club has stood still for years and has no ambition to own anything for itself. How many people would rent a house and then spend a fortune doing it up? The facilities are good but numerous ex employees have commented and I don’t believe it’s sour grapes. Would it matter if the training ground was miles away, not a jot because we don’t play matches there. I’d love to see a blueprint for the future where we look and act like a professional club. Long term objectives to include buying back the stadium and owning a suitable training centre is surely something we all should aspire to.
