The Club's Training Facilities

Them school facilities are pretty good though.
I dont really get the issue with it

 

Yeah the training ground was at fault for his last terrible spell at the club, nothing to do with him.

 

You don’t get the issue with it, because it’s neither here nor there for you, you don’t have to work there. An ex player who played for us twice says it’s not good enough, no argument really.

 

Who? Another trying to be relevant is my guess.

 

There isn’t , it’s a better facility than most use in L1/2 but slagging it off as an irrelevance and a contributor to poor form “ just because we don’t own it” fits a narrative for some.

 

Let’s not hide the fact that Parky brought in some absolute dross in amongst the gems as well. McLean was it on a 2.5 year deal ? Absolutely awful .

 

Did Stuart moan about the training facilities? Billy Clarke? Doyle (Colin and Nathan)? Cullen? Windass?
All players who've had more than one stint with us and I don't remember any of them moaning.
No argument my arse.

 

After watching the full interview Evans comes across as being a bit of an idiot tbf, but the point still stands, I’d rather we trained at a better, more professional setup.

 

Have any of the players who have moaned about the facilities actually said what's wrong with them? What don't we have that any other club at our level do?

 

What would a more professional set up look like? What would it have that we don't have at Woodhouse Grove?

 

A bigger swimming pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, sun beds and free hand jobs.

 

The videos the club put out last summer showed the facilities. They looked decent tbf.

its not like we are training on a bumpy pitch at some state school in middle of a council estate, like many of us played on!

A private facility, made to accommodate adults at professional football club. Imagine being a professional footballer and using a PE changing room. Or like Evans says in that video, proper catering, not three microwaves for the lads to warm up their own food.. I know it’s not a priority, and there are many things that need to be improved but we need to more professional across the board.

 

You ever been? It's not like that at all. They have there own entrance and full facilities. There is currently an ongoing battle for car parking spaces between parents, sixth formers (or whatever they get called these days) and the players / staff.
There's certainly no lack of facilities, and most of their whims are catered for.
Yeah, it's a school, and would I like us to have our own facility - of course. But whilst we have an owner who who couldn't give a crap and we continue to not have a pot to piss in, then they'll have to do.

 

The facilities are a bit better than 'have to do'. They are more than adequate for this level and league 1.

 

I'll take your word for it. The majority of ex players and managers who have complained about it after their time here have been failures with us so probably an easy excuse. I'll stand by my point we need to be more professional though, if what Evans says about the lads having microwave meals is true that's poor.
