Yes, I still don’t believe the financial requirement to sell at all RT, I think it was a case of if there is a bid then it will need to be good. If they were desperate for money then he would have been sold to the highest bidder at any price? He wasn’t which speaks volumes to me.

 

I fear Mac is too nice to be a leader on the pitch. Yes he's very experienced, but you don't see him shouting and getting into the players. He's too nice for the role I'm looking for, but he should definitely be in for Smallwood.

 

I used to see him talking to players when in the side but you may be right. I am just trying to think of a way forward that might work.

 

Plenty have been calling for Gent to go for ages, even before Hughes' head was on the chopping board.

 

Why, because Gent and Sparks thought it was a good idea to give him a 3 year deal, when in reality he was looking at a career in non league. He must have thought his numbers came up.

 

I think the bids were that low they couldn't even negotiate. Rupp ain't putting money in and those ticket sales are gonna be down next season unless something drastic happens. I get the feeling Young would have been worth a lot more if he'd seen the season out at Swindon but realistically that was never gonna happen.
Damn this club is a mess.

 

He is most certainly not the type of footballer you need when you need to dig in as a team! I wouldn’t think non league end a happy hunting ground.

You don’t see Smallwood shouting and getting in to players either.
We haven’t got a player who plays regularly who is captain material.

Smallwood just isn’t a captain at this level.
He must go down as one of the worst captains/leaders we’ve had in recent times.

 

Shouting doesn't make you a captain. It's not 1982

 

Not only that, they signed him as a LWB, the player came in and said he didn't want to play there and wanted a more forward role and so they went 'Okay Clarke, you know best'. Absolute shambles.
