'What will be will be regarding ticket sales'.

Good grief. What an absolutely appalling attitude for a CEO to have.

I'm on the steering group of the Independent Supporters Group. The Chair wrote this this morning, which explains a little of what's going on behind the scenes for us and might be of interest to some of you.

An update from our Chairperson, Steve:

    Dear Bantams,

I just wanted to write to give you an update on activity and action. I apologise for the gap but plenty of things have been going on. Unfortunately, I was hospitalised again due to the reoccurrence of an infection that put me in hospital at Christmas. Luckily, this time, they have completely stopped that infection and I am advised that it will not return. Since I left hospital, over a week ago, I have been back, working with our steering group to deliver opportunities for our supporters. Our, "Progression not Regression" campaign is now under way and this results in a protest that will take place at 2pm this coming Friday outside the directors entrance. We have contingency to move to outside the ticket office if we cannot or are blocked from protesting outside the directors entrance. This will involve our fans bringing their own banners and chants of progression not regression or any other chants will happen. I am not going to be attending the game afterwards, and many of us are going to walk to North Parade and have a beer. The protest is as simple as that. We will not condone any illegal activity such as pyrotechnics, items being thrown onto the pitch as this harms our credibility as a supporter group. Our protest is peaceful. We will meet near the ticket office at the bottom of the hill at 1.30pm. We hope to see many people there.

In other news, we are talking to national press at the moment who are greatly interested in what is going on at Bradford. In addition, we are also now starting to communicate with media in Germany, though this is in early stages.

There is lots going on right now but our invitation to do media regularly shows that our group is being seen as a prominent supporters group as well as being respected.

Keep the faith, do not be swayed from your opinion on the club and let's get change together.

With recent regulation it's now illegal to carry things like glue if the police suspect you are going to use it to lock on or like we saw at the coronation last year 6 people were arrested for having placards and luggage straps just because the police claimed the straps would be used to lock on. They were released without charge as the law is ridiculous but still stands. It's now also illegal to make too much noise where serious disruption to the activities of an organisation carried on in the vicinity or have a significant impact on people in the vicinity of the protest. So in theory if the protest was to be by the ticket office and the noise means the ticket office staff can't do their job then it would be illegal.
So many stupid and dangerous laws have been brought in by this government under the disguise of tackling Just Stop Oil when the reality is it's taking away rights to protest for everyone in the country

And people think he organised the “emergency” meeting as he had the clubs best interest at heart.

    Absolute fraud of a CEO.

Sparks is like Sunak, telling everyone they have never had it so good when in truth it's a complete shitshow.

They should be dissolved for what little purpose they serve

The new independent group have achieved a hell of a lot more in such a short space of time. They have a clear plan and strategy, and aren’t afraid to ask the questions we all want answering

    A TRUE supporters group

I'm pretty sure the following stock answers will be given for these.

    - Fan discontent/planned protest

Teams go through different periods of form, no one was complaining last year.

    - Ownership/Strategic direction

The club is sustainable and on a sound financial footing.

    - Current form and its impact on season ticket sales

Many people wait till the deadline to purchase tickets, we will get a better idea of where we standing at the end of April.

    - atmosphere section move

It was clearly communicated via the clubs social media channels requesting feedback, those in B block who weren't aware would do well the engage on social media

    - condition of pitch

This is the issue of a third party.

The supporters board will all comment on the selection of biscuits made available for the meeting, slap each other on the back and book the next month's meeting in the diary, then take to social media to praise the work of the club.

I particularly liked the part about Sparks telling us all that the switch to Ticketmaster has "generally been well received"

Re: point 6; I don't think anything needs to be changed. The current system has proved to work absolutely fine this season. Despite a few initial reservations, it works for the majority of fans and ultimately rewards loyalty

    Aye.

Stay at home and watch Swindon away on ifollow, dressed in your new City shirt and we'll give you more points than those mugs doing the 8 hour round trip on a Tuesday night to make sure you get a ticket for any local away games.

    Sems fair.

Why so many questions? There shouldn't be any issues, it is a peaceful protest

Do the club need notifying? Do the police need notifying?? There seems to be protests and marches going on all the time these days regarding Israel and the rest of it, which ends up far from peaceful. I bet they don't inform anyone, especially the authorities!!

I disagree Edin. The current scheme rewards fans who spend money with other clubs. And as they keep doing so the monopoly on away tickets stays with the Ubers.
I filled out the survey to say that loyalty points should be awarded based on the revenue I generate that benefits the club directly.
For instance: if I buy a shirt at circa £60 I get nothing. But I buy a ticket to an away game at say £25 (of which the club get a fraction) I get 10 points. How is that fair?
The same goes for iFollow. The club recently said in the press that we generate the largest revenue from this in League 2. And the club is always reminding me via email that 100% of the money goes to the club. But I receive no recognition in terms of points.

I have more confidence in Ryan Sparks than I have in the supporters board. If they were on Star Trek, they would be Klingons.

From what I have seen so far the ISG has done more in a few weeks to influence the club than the supports board has done ever. Why would the ISG want to join up with a group that basically seems to be scared of their own shadow?

SB: Ryan when will there be hot water in the Kop bogs
    RS: Soon.
SB: Ok Ryan that's great. Take your time we all know you are busy pissing off the fan base and sponsors.

There is absolutely no way on earth I'd embarrass myself by being part of a body willing to ask the CEO if we can have pool tables and arcade machines on the concourse.

What the hell was the chair thinking!

And now any change would presumably impact this of us who have put in the miles and have accrued loyalty points!

Shame that daft survey saying loyalty points would be awarded for shop sales and other such rubbish wasn't prior to this meeting.

I hope it is put across that the scheme for tickets priority was there to ensure those who did the hard Miles could get a better chance of tickets when a plumb tie comes up, not someone who has a pie every home game.

The points earned over a whole season should carry over to the next but the points from 2 seasons ago should probably drop off.
This is the only way that new away fans can ever catch up and also ensures that the priority scheme stays current.

nobody can argue that it hasn’t worked perfectly for the Carlisle away game.
