    We didn’t shift them on!

We offered them all new contracts but they all chose to sign for other clubs!

Not for me. His mistake was at the end of the match.

I think he he still a work in progress and won’t be going anywhere next season.

    What a crazy suggestion!
He would then be then looking for another club in June.

There was the mistake early on, another where he came rushing out for a cross which went behind him and was headed off the line and finally the goal at the end - shocking error.
Came out and completely missed the ball.
He’s been superb for us all season and gained us far more points than he’s cost us but really needs to work on his commanding of crosses.
We’ve concede a lot of goals from within the six yard box that you’d expect the keeper to claim.

Probably but he may have helped us to promotion . In case you haven’t noticed he went to another club half way through the season.

Either way what happens at the end of this season we need to strengthen.

we need a new LW and RW, another striker - personally i think Derbyshire isnt up to snuff. Need a foil sort of player.

need a good DM as well, we have a few good AMs or CMs but no DM, think it was colchester or hartlepool but i thought their number 8 did really well in the middle.

so four quality signings for me.

Reckon that's the case. This lad will be nothing more than a back up. He's been playing for Rangers B in the Lowlands league, which is just semi pro teams and Bs for other big clubs in Scotland. Had 26 games, 6 clean sheets and conceded 45.

Sounds like he’s playing in a fantastic league. Rangers B team vs ‘Civil Service Strollers’. Is that the HMRC sunday league team, with a few DWP lads up front?

Do keepers really claim them at this level though? We seem to go through keeper after keeper and hammer them for "not commanding their box" and whenever we concede in the 6 yard box.

Perhaps we have unrealistic views into what is actually achievable for keepers, not only at this level but also further up the divisions as I see similar goals on the EFL highlight show every week.

Have a look on match of the day this week. Similar goals even at PL level in the Liverpool and West Ham games.

They might not claim them - but rushing out and completely missing is the worst thing you can do. Either come and get it or stay on your line.
Not hammering him tho, if Cook hadn’t got 29 goals or whatever it is then Lewis would be miles clear himself as player of the season for me, I was just adding my thoughts to someone who hadn’t seen the replay of the late equaliser.
I think he can and will play at a higher level (hopefully with us), and I don’t forget even though he’s not a young kid, he’s still learning in the senior game

Yeah, I do agree with your point but if, for instance, that was still ROD in goal and he stays on his line but Gills still score then he also gets hammered.

Feels a bit of a no win situation sometimes for the keepers, that's the only point I was making.

Almost every mistake a keeper makes leads to a goal, so is more noticeable than a miss hit pass, cross or shot on goal.
Gillingham's keeper did not cover himself in glory with Cook's equaliser. Flap around like a flounder.
Yes Lewis should have done better, but he is in his first full season for anyone and will be better for it next year.

He has had a brilliant first season with us and if it wasn't for Cook would be a shoe in for POTY.
Andyc comment is totally correct, a keeper error often has very telling consequences - lets remember Cookie has missed some sitters this season but is quite rightly a hero for his goal tally

Lewis is an excellent shot stopper but struggles to play out from the back. This was evident versus Gillingham.

True but lets remember he is currently a League 2 keeper, some Premier goalies struggle with the point you make!

You'd think a former PL manager would be able to spot that though and make the subsequent corrections.

Not specifically a City transfer rumour but from the sounds of things Danny Mayor has been told he can leave Plymouth at the end of the season.

Was a key part of their L2 promotion, we were linked under McCall and again with Adams if I remember rightly which is why i bring it up. Not started frequently in L1, especially as of late with 21 starts over the season, he wont have a sniff in the champ. Seems to have been playing more centrally too. He has the Canavan deal where they lives in a club owned property in Plymouth for 3 or 4 days a week and trains in Manchester the rest of the time. Think his family live that way out, so expect us, Salford, probably Tranmere types to be linked in the summer.
