Carlisle did. Orient didn't. Stevenage didn't. No idea about Northampton.

 

I think he looks good so far. He isn't a LWB though in a million years, he looks like he gets a nosebleed going forward. Lad is certainly a full back who would probably look his most settled left of a back 4.

 

Not from what I saw against Crewe bombed forward all the time doesn’t matter though it would take a bomb to dislodge Ridhalge in Hughes eyes

 

Orient had a back 5 all season for sure. Stevenage started with it, tried moving to 4 and form dropped, went back to a 5 for the final third. Northampton had a 5 at the back all season.

 

I think the issue is that many are used to seeing wingbacks at the top level and expect the same from League Two wingbacks. He’s very much a wingback at this level

 

Might well grow into it, but certainly looks far more comfortable with the defensive side of his job. Looks solid so far. Worth remembering too he only ever started 1 game at LWB for Harrogate before doing the role for us, never played WB at Wolves either.

Agree, but in fairness quite a few on here were seeking it , me included, because played with the right personnel , it’s a great fluid set up. Remember ostensibly it was to cover for our lack of pace and Cook’s isolation up top.

 

Yer Vancooten was out for a long time and then another lad but Evans preferred three central defenders as none of them had pace.

Piergianni turned out to be a brilliant signing.

 

Can’t agree, I watched several of their games. Orient played us off the field at VP playing it!

 

Also to add to the 4 that went up that played 3 at the back so did the play off runners up Stockport.

 

He refused to play for Harrogate’s last two fix didn’t he?

Orient didn't have a back 5 when we played them at VP from what I recall. Amd Stevenage definitely didn't.

 

He’s played in every league game except the opening day and scored last week

 

Thanks , that’s odd a read an article that indicated he refused to play in two fixtures, Ah, yes you quoted LEAGUE games…I didn’t mention league but great clarification.
