Deal sheets aren't used in the EFL according to the Yorkshire Evening Post article from today

    My mistake.
Sky mentioned the 2 hour thing but they didn’t mention that it was PL only.

Looks like it was either a false rumour or it couldn't be completed for one reason or another. Norwich are selling a CB to Nottingham Forest so could have been a knock on impact of that if they didn't want to let 2 go.

Guessing the Norwich deal fell through? They did sell a CB to Forest in the last hour. Maybe they wanted him to stick around as cover.

Guess we can add the "leaner and meaner" quote to the list of Sparks' quotes that aged terribly. File it with the "we won't tolerate mediocrity at this football club" line.

Tomorrow will be interesting. In addition, it'll be interesting to see when everyone is fit, the amount of wages we are spending on players who can't even make the squad

Another Sparks quote that didn't age well was - 'It is our belief that we will reap the rewards of continuity in the long term' after giving Stuart McCall extension to his contract, 3 weeks later he was sacked.

    Window Summary

Goalkeeper - It looked like Lewis needed competition after a shaky start, but it seems he has found form again. As long as that persists, no issue in this department

RB - I am glad that Halliday has competition, he got complacent at times last season. I do see the potential in Oyegoke, but currently he's acting a bit rash an reckless in his decision making, il put that down to team morale an a lack of first team experience to him. I think he'l come good

CB - Missing out on Tomlinson is a big blow. We need pace at the back. Taylor looks like a dud, an I don't think Kelly is any better. Crichlow is gonna be a big miss this year. We're weaker in this position than last season

LB - Richards looked good against Morcambe and Crewe. As long as Hughes persists with him, id say this position has been improved

CM - Mcdonald looks to have the right attributes, Pattison looks quality an both will be giving Smallwood the much needed kick up the arse that he needs in order to regain form an focus. On paper the midfield looks stronger, but Hughes needs to find the right balance in order to make it effective

CAM - If Walker can stay fit then we're good, if not then Pointon or Pattison are on hand to fill the gap. So id say were better off once again in this position

LW - Odour looks good so far. Chapman began to show form prior to his injury, lets home he can continue that once he's back.

RW - Im not gonna name all the wingers on our books, there's too many weve brought in. Lets hope 1 of the 3 come good an nail a place down

ST - Honestly, I haven't got a clue. Cook is off form an needs competiton, but Oliver is injured for a while, Derbyshire is only good for 15 mins, Smith needs someone to play off an the new lad didn't set the world alight at Rochdale. Once everybody is fit, we'l be okay. But for the time being, there is cause for concern

If Stubbs had been sold, id of been massively fecked off, but thankfully he hasn't. so il give this window a 7/10. We've strengthened in most positions, but CB an St for the immediate future are cause for concern. Lets hope that Hughes can get his ducks in a row an fast. Its not like he hasn't got the luxury of switching things up, we've probably got the biggest squad in the division rn

Agree with much of what you say aside from Oyegoke and the overall score. I picked three in the poll and Oyegoke looks like another Premier League youth who will eventually fade into non-league football

Love how much people lose their shit at Hughes / Sparks over things that are just made up by some anon on the internet as if they're real and actually happened, amazing how many times it happens and they never learn

I hope so, and we also need him to be decent as we're still a more mobile centre half short.

I'm yet to be convinced that our recruitment department can spot a good centre half after the Taylor debacle. I know recruitment is a lottery, but the latter stages of this window seem like we've thrown a hedgehog at the dartboard hoping to score 180.

I will wait to see how the new guys perform before i rate the transfer window. One thing is certain, we are not short of players.
I am just not sure how they all fit in though, today's team news will be interesting.

Seems an odd signing if true with Platt , Stubbs, Kelly , Odusina and Taylor on the books, although i am surprised Odusina is still here and i have not seen Taylor, but the general thought is he's crap, which is odd for a guy with 400 professional appearances,
