I think he didn't want to go to BPA as he'd been on loan in the National League North before.
He's still got 2 years left on his contract. He needs a full season somewhere.

 

I think more a case of him not wanting to go there

 

I'd be amazed if he turned down a National League club.
I can't see him getting a League 2 loan.
He's wasting another season if that is the case.

 

There is a month before the window closes maybe he thinks he can get a permanent move elsewhere before then

 

Would we let him go on a permanent move? He was the future once?

 

Problem is, Staunton has had more injuries than starts since he was the best of a bad bunch under McCall. Needs a full season for sure, wonder if Halifax just didn't see much worth in him?

A elderly family member who watches BPA games when City are away saw him twice for BPA last season and said he looked really off it both times. Wonder if a Gateshead or York have a slot for him? Looking at the NL, most of the better sides on paper already have two CBs who recently had full runs in either L1 or 2, an inexperienced lad in his early 20s might not be top of everyones starting radar for the better sides.

 

Hard to say but maybe his agent has some options he prefers more. We always look at one decision in isolation clearly because we can't see all the other moving parts

 

Surely he wouldn't have gone on trial and played 75 mins for them if he had no intention of going on loan?
I think it's pretty clear they didn't fancy him and have brought in a couple of other defenders that they think are better.

 

Be a silly move to let Staunton or Scales go out of the club they need to be part of the first team squad to improve them both, They are both good prospects lets not ruin them

 

FCD to Spennymoor on season long loan...

 

Finn Cousin Dawson gone to National league North Spennymoor town on season long loan.I thought he would have done better than that.

 

Still young and he's better playing a full season at Spennymoor than going to somewhere like Halifax and only playing a bit part. He needs a full season behind him and it's a tough old league to gain more experience.

 

Staunton and FCD aren't going to make it as fulltime pro footballers. I said this a couple of years ago. I thought the same about Scales too but judging by his pre-season he might have a chance and prove me wrong.

 

Or he agreed then on the day got another offer from elsewhere - we'll never know.

 

How is he going to improve by NOT playing games?

Eisa is gonna be a world class player then if that’s the case

 

Getting these lads out on loan at a lower level, can only help their development. Conference north will be a tough learning curve for them, just like the prem under23's dropplng to league 1 and 2.
Scales i would keep around the squad, the lad has a bit of something about him, and is apparently one of the fittest in the squad. He will learn a lot being around players like Smallwood.

 

Spennymoor full of praise for the way Ryan Sparks handled negotiations over FCD.They are managed by Johnson and Morley,who took Salford from nowhere to near the football league,so he might learn about the dark arts of non league football during his spell there.
