    True but a 3 year deal for an ex Premiership footballer with the money they earn is far less important than say to a div 1, 2 player

    If there is a big signing I’d imagine Hughes would want him in the training camp in Mercia, they could always do a player reveal on the plane as I imagine a member of the marketing team will be going to take footage etc. would certainly be a different way to announce a signing to anything we’ve seen before!

    If it is Long…he’s not very good anymore is he? Recent stats are worse than Cooks.

    Since when do we believe ML too? This to me seems like free promo for the Vent.

    Anyone on here who wouldn't take Shane Long right now, if he was a viable target, give your heads a massive shake. Levels above anything we have or have had at the club for a long time. Forget the age he's got a couple of years left. And forget the goal tally, he's been playing at the highest level against the best defences, bit different to league 2 donkeys

    It wasn’t Dave, it was suggested by Mark Lawn during the game with Avenue. The City Vent then tweeted it out after the game. If you scroll back to last nights timeframe someone posted a pic of the tweet

    Where has Shane Long come from? He didn’t do much for Sparky before did he? ings and Austin did more but the former is doing well enough in PL for Villa and Austin has gone to Australia.

    Really don’t see what PL player will wanna drop here. If its Greek PL and someone like Matt Derbyshire then maybe!

    Agreed, but in those cases, they named the players. This is like second hand info from Lawn. Hope it’s true…”bigger than MH coming here”…that’s a bold statement!
