Its a fair ppint and hard to argue. Hes probably our 4th choice though - last term 3rd choice. If hes happy to be that and simply a body then im ok for the slate to be wiped clean. Hughes will no doubt make a decision in the coming weeks.

Same with Threlkled tbh. Ideally he moves on but Sparky may give him a chance to prove himself.

As you say, he's probably moved further down the pecking order than he was last season. What bothers me is that he probably isn't that bothered about that (based on an interview he did towards the end of last season where he said he isn't that fussed if he isn't playing or not, he's just glad he doesn't have to do any other sort of job). It's that sort of attitude that makes me want him to move on more than the fact he isn't that good.

That said he wont be a distruption if he isnt getting picked either. Seems a jovial, free spirit type. A good one to have in the bunch.

 

Im sure Hughes did a interview at the end of the season an said that Kelleher was a good influence on the team behind closed doors. He may not be the best player at city but he isn’t a bad apple or a player with a bad attitude so to speak

 

He did indeed, I heard that. Seemed to think he had something to offer on the pitch too, so might be happy for him to see out his contract this season.

 

Yep seriously frustrating just to think we would probably fund the club on smoke and mirrors ?

 

Charlie Wood has signed a 1 year deal. Another striker option.

I guess he wants to see how committed we are to his development and what opportunities we give him.

 

Perhaps? In all honesty he’s very very unlikely to get any chances in a team with a plan aimed at getting promotion . Sorry I cannot see how , but hey never say never?

Does this signal the end of Scales at City perhaps? Can’t see where he fits in and does Wood provide a more youthful potential?

 

Scales is a midfielder , Wood a striker . I think scales has something to work with and was the fittest player in the bleep test on Thursday. The more youngsters we can develop the better for me.
