Summer 2022 - Transfer Talk

Joe Sabbra from Solihull Moors who we were linked with has signed a new 2 year deal with them. He had loads of interest from league 1 and 2 clubs so I'm quite surprised he's stayed .

 

Im expecting some player announcements with the away kit and 3rd kit reveals. When they will be I’m not sure. Hopefully at least one before Thursday.
Do wonder if its more to try and get the business done before the trip to merica, rather than before preseason training starts

 

Northampton have signed Danny Hylton. Knocking on a bit but terrific record at L2 level.

 

Decent signing yes, I'd prefer a 33 year old Hylton to a 33 year old Cook. What's going against us there though is Hylton's never really played up north, apart from 1 appearance for Rotherham and a short loan stint at Bury. The majority of his career has been down south.

 

Northampton not exactly ooop Norf?

 

Danny Hylton turned down an offer from Wimbledon last week, assuming he must have had a very very good offer, Wimbledon aren't exactly skint and also got a fair amount for Palmer from Wrexham 6 months back.

Northampton already added the Newport LB who seemed fairly decent, and Fox from Grimsby who looked very sharp last season, think he was man of the match in the PO final if i remember correctly. Getting some good talent there to add to a team that only missed out on promotion on goals scored.

 

They were just short of a few goals. If Hylton can get them 15 that might make the difference.
Only query with Northampton is how bad is the hangover from last season?
They weren't at the races against Mansfield after the events of the final day.

 

The City Vent is teasing a 6pm announcement. They dont claim to be ITK but dont think they would risk their credibility either when trying to get a podcast off the floor.

 

Can’t see Odusina being announced just yet.
Hartlepool have just announced that Molyneux is leaving but no mention of Odusina and I imagine that if he does sign for us then they’d have to announce that he was leaving them first.

 

I’m surprised Luke Molyneux has been let go. Got a few goals in the league last year. Only 24 and looked good.

One of the replies to the leaving tweet says his destination is Donny.

 

They didn’t want to let him go. They offered him a contract but he’s decided to sign elsewhere. Their fans are gutted and are now really hoping that Odusina stays.

 

Fair enough. not much you can do if the lad doesn’t want to stay.

 

Perhaps any hold up is the same as Watt.

Nah. I don't think that's the case. IIRC we announced POC and CV had left off the back of Lincoln's respective tweets announcing they'd signed them..
