Other than you are wildly wrong about they have funding to building a new ground! . Therefore financially what you claim is an irrelevance. I’m not talking about the football side of the club, I’m just providing you with information that your statement regarding their availability of assets to pay for a ground are completely and utterly wrong. I have copied in the local paper article and you still claim you are right. Righty Ho!
They cannot afford a ground without an interest free loan, therefore an interest free mortgage. No financial provider on earth would agree to that for ZERO payment in return.

Would you expect the taxpayers of Bradford and district to give a private business a loan of say £30 million with no guarantee it would be paid back. That’s what you are suggesting , because that’s what this scheme proposed by Posh involves.

The American investors and Darragh don't have any funds between them?[/QUOTE]

Not to fund a brand new ground otherwise why ask for an interest free loan?

That article is now 6 months old.

This one, from May, presents a successful bond offer paying supporters a very healthy return for their investment, and suggests a progressive use of the money. Not sure how many football clubs, or business, wouldn't have to borrow funds in order to invest in long term assets like a new ground.

The latest published accounts show a club that have spent £1m+ on transfer fees in each of the last 2 years.

Why use your own money when you can use the councils?

I know how old the article is , they still haven’t got interest free funding other than bond sales. Yes?

To provide funding to buy players they have sell players . I have written many times how good they are at picking up football talent chucked out by PL clubs over many years.
I’m not knocking the football side of the club rather the so called claim of fund availability to build a.new stadium. Hope that helps?

I simply said they have funds - to operate well and be competetive. Never said they had funds to afford a new ground. Simpky said one is incoming.

I hope the council pay for it and use your taxes.

I don’t pay my Council tax to them. One makes too many assumptions to be on the ball at this time of the day so to speak . Who is Simpky ?

I bet Darragh wishes he was as popular with his own fans as he is with ours

I have total respect for Roger as a poster on here, his insight into behind the scenes at our football club is something we can’t get anywhere else and should be commended.

But he doesn’t half have some bizarre opinions on other clubs, often wrongly as well. It wasn’t long ago he came out with the corker that Bolton would likely not see the season out when they were in league 2 with us months before them going on to get automatic promotion and they’re likely to be fighting to get back to the championship next season.

Slating Peterborough is of similar vain, a relegation from the championship is an over achievement for a club of their size, they were similar to Northampton when he took over and were marooned mid table league 2(sound familiar?). I don’t agree that this young lad is a guaranteed 20 goal a season player, he’s a natural sales man and most of them a full of shit they have to be to sell their product. I don’t like the guy but respect what he’s done at that club, even now they’re punching above their weight while me flap about in league 2.

I could go on about our failings under this ownership but we all know the history, so I’ll just say people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. I hope in a few years we can look down on a Peterborough but it looks a million miles away atm.

Going back to regarding Smalling I remember watching him a lot a while back when I lived in Blackburn, my lads footy team provided the ball boys for Rovers and all the dads got a free ticket so I went along most home games, what I remember is his him being very much in the Gary Jones mould, going about vital unnoticed work in the middle of the park. Great signing if we pull it off, and to add to this I'm not sure if MH was manager during Smallwoods time at Rovers, If he was then maybe linking back up with MH may just persuade him.
