The quote is 'no offer was made', though discussions took place.

 

It may just be about a clean slate for all players including Evans given their history, but hopefully not.

 

Hard to say whether I feel Evans should stay or go, since I'm not sure what role he's best suited to anymore.

Yet this season, we haven't once seen him play in that position....

 

Evans is everything that's been wrong with our recruitment over the past few years. 30+, on good wages and doesn't have a set position. Have to avoid these types of players going forwards.

 

Yes he was more left wing in the 3 behind the striker. Him and Clarke were triers tbf and helped early on in our good run, but he’s not gunna be the type who’ll be a good impact player from the bench and I’d say we need better to start. Maybe as a back up right back if he stays.

 

I agree, not knowing why we signed someone is tinpot. Maybe signing Evans was the kick up the arris the club needed when they brought in Turnbull to make recruitment actually make sense.

Having never seen him play RB, I don't know if he's good enough or not; having seen him used as an attacking player, he's definitely not dangerous enough.

 

I believe it’s the position he played when he won the league with Portsmouth, but not seen him there myself. Just how good is a league 2 reserve right back likely to be anyway? I’d be shocked if he’s too poor even for that role regardless of what people on here think.

I wasn't really sure what position he would fit into when he joined and I don't think we've ever worked it out. Plus he's been pretty poor in almost every position he's played. He always seemed to have a good games against us - perhaps the "old club rule"?

Unless his performances improve a lot he's not going to play much next season, is he? Be better for us/budget of he moved on but like many of last season's team it's no skin off his nose to stick around and get paid to play when needed.
