I wonder whether we have considered ex Albion Sports player Kayden Jackson who I think was on our books as a youngster?

Ipswich looking to offload but wanting a fee, perhaps this is the player we bid for last month, that all went quiet.

Swindon interested in taking him back but probably on loan for now.

Whether Jackson or not, I wonder whether we are still pursuing the striker they targeted last month, its clearly someone at another club

 

I have been advocating him for a while on here did great for Accrington got a reported million pound move to Ipswich where he started well and fell out with Lambert he would be a good signing at this level

 

Jackson would be a great signing but I imagine he's on obscene wages at Ipswich so even a loan would be expensive.

 

We are, which is pretty pleasing.

 

Of those two last night Vernham was a country mile more effective. We have seen from memory at least two rasping 25 yarders rapping the bar so far this pre season from Venham . Not seen that from Cranky.

Seems to be on a rumored £3k a week according to Ipswich fans. He was out the plans and training with the U23s a few weeks back but since a loan move fell through, he's been back training with the first team for about a week or so and played half an hour in a friendly last night. Even still, he looks like the 4th/5th choice forward and is in the final year of his deal so they'll probably want rid.

Cook has publicly said he wants 4 strikers, they currently have 5, Cook has signed 3 of them this summer, leaving the door open for Jackson or James Norwood to leave. Their forum seems to think Jackson is the favourite to go, but Ipswich are running out of patience with Norwood and his off the field behavior. Norwood last week was from driving for 40 months after being caught drink driving, not his first drink related issue it seems like. He was banned for 19 months for the same charge in 2012. Norwood also on the last year of his deal, in court this month he had to publicly announce his earnings which he disclosed as £4K a week (assuming he had to say so for his fine?).

 

Agreed, you'd like to think with the experience and resume Adams has, he'll know this and be letting the board know this in no uncertain terms; "i'll get you promoted but give me the tools to do it". Weve managed to offload bigger dollops of dross before. I'm confident if indeed those to are to he offloaded/loaned, we can make it happen

 

Up until last night which I didn’t see Crankshaw has had a good pre season

 

I'm a bit confused about why he is apparently so highly rated. He has very, very limited experience at league level for a lad approaching 24 years old, and I've yet to see anything from him (admittedly not got a lot to go on), that has made me sit up and think we've got a player here. Considering Ridehalgh so far looks a downgrade on Wood, I'm a little bit worried about the LB position and think we may also need another one in for there as well.

 

I would've thought he'd have been on a but more than that considering they signed him when they were in the championship. Either way he's not cheap.

 

Yeah I don't think he's a good financial risk to take, he was apparently on £800 at Accrington. Probably on £4kish in the champ then had the wage reduction all teams put in their contracts after relegation, i'd imagine. Even if the £3k was accurate, still talking £150K he's due this season, even if you offer to take the deal on, that's still far too much for L2 and they'll probably want a good few hundred grand at least back as a fee, given they spent £1M on him.

 

I wonder how that situation impacts Eisa, whom has a fair goalscoring/ assist record and thus, his defensive duties will be required.
Now I've not seen him in a City shirt so simply cannot comment, but one of the labels he acquired at Scunny was his lack of defensive duties...

 

Jackson's goal statistics don't show him as prolific, for a striker, approximately equivalent to ten goals a full season.

 

Largely ineffective because the our middle of the park was weak, as a result little service going to the right. Aisa got a bit of service but was easily knocked off the ball.

He was however unlucky to hit the post when he bent it round the keeper

 

Fired Accrington to promotion which earned him his big move to Ipswich.

Apparently Ipswich turned down bids of over a £1m last summer. He was hampered by injuries last season and then frozen out by the manager for some reason.

I reckon would be a good signing at this level

 

Exactly my point, a little like Stuart the other season played a formation in preseason we got beat and looked a shambles then I'm his post match interview he said he'd never actually use that formation in the league, hopefully neither would Adams, he must have had his reasons.

 

That is really a funny one he was our best player by a mile again Doncaster not only going forward but getting back and helping the full back as well the he was criticised by Adams post match talk about being demotivated. At first I thought he would be one of the first names on the team sheet not sure now

 

I wasn't aware of the post match talk from DA. The other label from the Scunny fans on Eisa was attitude.

 

I guarantee AOC, Wood and Donaldson were all on £3k a week or more, Cook quite possibly too.
