    Add in the players who didn’t play, Pritchard and Ismail and the money budgeted for Rowe’s contract there is no reason not to be cracking on with a top striker.

    On Saturday Ridehaigh looked a upgrade on Wood he blocks crosses and defends properly unlike Wood

    Don't get this "upgrade on Wood". He was gash last year. George Cohen would be an upgrade on him and he's 80

    It feels like Adams (and the club) have gone about things properly and in a thoroughly professional manner this pre-season.

    He brought in the people he wanted early, got them involved and understanding the club and the pattern of play. Gave those already here a chance through half games or full games to show what they can do and how they might fit in and then review what further actions are needed. After all the window is open for one more month!

    It's a far cry from previous omni-shambles where we have people coming and going, trialists in and out week after week and some kind of speed juggle puzzle competition where we have no idea if it will work out or not.

    Excellent stuff so far and well done DA and the club.

    I've reserved judgement on Adams, and the season hasn't started, but I'm very impressed with the efficient way he's conducted pre-season and the manner of his interviews. He speaks clearly and concisely and the players will be in no doubt as to what is expected of them.

    As an old cynic, praise from me is praise indeed!

    I agree, but we could be ruthless. Ipswich financially not in the best place. Do you keep a well paid 5th place striker. Or just get rid

    I agree we could and should be ruthless in the market, if we were after a starting striker. Given that the forward we want will at best be a rotation striker with Cook who'll already be on a great wage for this level and probably start in that one up top role, we'll probably not go for a man like Jackson, unless we can arrange a cracking deal.

    No we need a potential first choice striker and Jackson fits the bill a deal is unlikely though

    Agree, anyone coming in, whatever position, has to be potential first choice. Don't see the point in bringing anyone in just to make the numbers up.

    In the case of striker position, Cook should not be automatically viewed as first choice. Angol is doing his very best it would seem to be proving he is worthy of being in the starting line-up.

    Do you really think he fits the bill, Park? I know he's a Bradford lad, but as an EFL player he's played 194 matches and only scored 36 goals. That's a goal every 5 or 6 games.

    If Angol can stay fit, I predict he will be massive for us this season. His touch, movement and football brain are way better than Lg 2.

    They are but his heading from crosses has been of 12 year old standard so let’s see how he is when it matters
