Yes agree, young players , depending on their “circle” could easily be led astray and lose their focus?

Perhaps that’s what’s seen him slightly fall from grace. We can hope it was an inspired signing. Adams probably won’t take prisoners, so he knows he has to up his game for a full season.

I’m not a pro footballer but I’ve had my ankle repaired, it’s better than the other one. Only thing that holds me back is I’m terrified of knackering it again. Sports psychologist would sort that out.

Interest in him from div 1 clubs and I just think we will cash in.

 

Not sure why we would do that. If he is L1 quality and our aim is to be there next season then why dispose of someone who is a) good enough to get us there and b) good enough to retain if & when we get there?
Makes no sense to me, unless he is on top wages, which I doubt.

 

I would imagine any reasonable offer will be considered for Watt, his contract is up next summer and he will leave for nothing unless we offer him a new contract sometime in the next few months.

 

Scott Quigley of barrow has dropped down a league to play for Stockport, he looked good against us last season and a few on here thought he'd be a good signing for us.

 

I rate Watt alot for his potential, but not his consistency, currently. He was in and out for us last season. Killer pass one minute, really poor unforced error the next. And for Lg 2, he gets muscled off the ball far too much. I honestly can't see him being a regular starter for us, given the rest of what we have in midfield. So if we can make some money and he can further his career, might be a good deal all round.

 

Wow, Barrow fans seemed to think he was heading to hometown club Shrewsbury. Money certainly talk, as Stockport throwing plenty at it recently, they will be under huge pressure to win the National League next season

 

It's a 3 year deal as well.

As will Wrexham and many others. The National is going to be one hell of a competitive league next season, packed out with ex League teams and smaller clubs with big money chairmen as it is. Bet the attendances rocket there. In truth, it should be League 3 - virtually all the clubs are full time or full time/semi.

 

There’s a lot of money around in the National league, so pleased we’ve avoided it as you can get stuck down there for many years. Or even lower in the case of York, Stockport and Torquay who went down to the league below at one point.

 

The bubble will burst. Seen it all before!

 

Things are moving on there, too. The National now have a 30 live match deal with BT for next season, plus the FA Vase and FA Trophy. I'm not saying it's Sky money, but it'll put alot more into the coffers of clubs who only depended on tickets on the day and food and drink sales - little of which they've had over the past 18 months.

 

What a shock that is a very good forward at our level
