    I think its how Adams operates though. Lots of flexible players who all know the system, and its the system as a whole through which success is delivered. There's a risk that you end up with lots of players who're 'ok' in various positions but not particularly good in any one. My biggest worry in the back 4 is who plays next to Canavan. I'd like to see another quality, no nonsense centre back brought in. What I would say though, is that its been a long while since our back 4 were protected by a proper defensive midfield player. I think someone like Songo would make a big difference.

    Hats off to the guy, I got fed up doing a 400 mile round trip for about 6 seasons.

    It takes all your weekend, cos you are too shattered on Sunday to do anything. The work and the cycle continues. It’s hard trust me.

    Your last couple of sentences are 100% bang on.
    How many times did we see the opposition just run straight through the middle.Any back 4 is going to struggle without protection.
    A poor back 4 has absolutely no chance.
    Still struggle to understand how numerous managers have failed to rectify this.
    Adams definitely won’t fall in to that category.

    A bit part player from Salford or a young lad that at times struggled and looks more or a centre half?

    Doesn't fill me with confidence which is why, as it stands, I'd probably gamble on Sutton to play there.

    From what i've read of Adams, he seems to favour an approach of having 6 defensive players that provide a platform for a front 4 to go and win the game. I think we'll play with 'centre half types' at full back. A tall back 4 that can all defend the box and crosses well, with a unit (Songo) just in front.

    What is Cousin-Dawson's actual favourite/preferred position?

    Like you, he looked like a centre back playing right back at times.

    If he wants to give it a go at right back then fair enough but he'll need to work on his speed off the mark.

    If he's a centre back then he needs to stop filling in at right back becuaee he'll end up like Danny Devine or similar players and won't make the grade unfortunately and that would be a shame.

    Yeah I get that but I'm just being pragmatic. Until he's signed in the dotted line then he's not our player so it's difficult to include him in the discussions on squad strength.

    Don't forget, we're league two and if someone comes in and offers him another 500 a week most are going to jump at it.

    Considering the *@?$ up the club have made first saying you have until the 6th July to renew, then changing it to the 2nd. I wonder if Songo’o will be announced Friday to brush the date change under the rug, a cynical outlook but not impossible.

    Always going to happen. Odsal is a tip, but as a stock venue there are non better. The view, the atmosphere, the smell and the racing is the best in the business. Went for the first meeting back, and will no doubt be returning when ever possible.
