Your comment typifies our support. Personally I have no idea how good he is but I do recognise Wood was good 2 years ago and hopeless this. However, I do know how to build a team in an average workplace. Lots of different characters, skill levels and desires. The team is bigger than any player and that's what Adams is working towards. I loved his interview the other day and I think we will have a passionate, hardworking and successful team.

I don’t disagree but I still say Wood is every bit as good as Ridhalge if indeed it’s him we sign

Yann Songo'o has been in Spain on holiday. I believe he is now in quarantine.

That might explain a delay in announcement. Players have signed but need to complete their medicals.

    2+2....

Connor Wood wanted out and played like it last season . If the lad had put as much effort in as his previous season's , he would have moved up the league's . Orient is a sideways move, that's not to say they won't be up there challanging this year.

The one thing that would slightly bother me about Ridehalgh if he signs is that a lot has been made about us signing players than can play 40+ games a season, yet he has played less than 30 in each of the last 3 seasons, with just 26 last season. Edited to add, it looks like only 21 of those 26 were league games.

I keep hearing Wood wanted out the only time I heard him speak on it he said he would love to sign a new contract. The reason he left could be probably similar to Hornby in wanting a better deal

He was in the squad 52 times last season and made 35 appearences in all competitions. Dont forget 19/20 season cut short....

I wouldnt use the unreliable Wikipedia.

I've got to disagree here. Whilst Wood was below par last season, I never saw a lack of effort or desire from him.

if you want an improved contract at work , show it in your performances. Connor Wood didn't. The pandemic has made it much harder for lower league footballer's to demand bigger salaries. All clubs have taken a financial hit and will cut there cloth accordingley, unless they have a backer willing to burn his own cash and that does not gaurantee promotion . Salford the prime example.

i did, we all see the game differently, but i wish i had a pound for every cross of Woods that did not beat the first man or pass that failed to reach its target. He was definately poorer last season than earlier years, but so were a few who had been here a couple of years. There is a good player in Connor , just did not show enough last season.

Wood is a good player who has never really hit the heights he could have potentially achieved.
I don't agree that he wanted out of the club and played accordingly.
The reason he is no longer at the club is that he didn't kick on from that first season when he looked liked developing into a very good footballer.

Purely comes down to the right deal for Songo'o. If he is getting paid what he feels he is worth he is ours. No convincing required. He is Adams boy.

I don't disagree that he was poor at times last season but that was not down to a lack of effort imo.

I have at the back of my mind that maybe a league 1 club might tempt him

That's why I edited my post. He featured in 19 league games last season and the two semi final play offs, so 21 times in total. 17 of those were starts, 4 as a sub.

Could well do. Maybe a nice promotion bonus will tempt him out way.

Was more than that. 26 league appearences and 9 in the cup.

He was available, wasnt injured. Just not preferred for periods.

Not preferred doesn't strike me as an upgrade but fair enough.
It wasn't 26 league games last season though.

Remember it well. On the journey back home (I was still living in Bradford at the time) there was an overturned car on the southbound A1 just south of Darlo. It must’ve only just happened as there was no emergency services on the scene but the road conditions were terrible with the heavy rain.

From what I heard about the game afterwards Hutchins had wanted to rest some of the higher profile players but Richmond was adamant they should play as he thought we’d could do well in that competition. I seem to remember Carbone taking the absolute piss in the 2nd leg when we won 7-2
