As much as he’s a legend as a player, he’s just not a decent manager.
It’s a no from me. Some capacity at the club maybe. Not manager.

    Not for me.
McCall is history and that's where he belongs.
I like to remember Stuart's good times at the club.
Suggesting a return to VP wouldn't sit right with me.

There's much better out there than McCall though @Bronco@Bronco ,he's very good at team spirit and got the best out of what was basically Parkinson's side with the likes of Meridith, McMahon, McCardle, Darby, Hanson Clarke Cullen. I just don't think he's good at building a new squad and when the time comes to sacking him whoever the chairman is ,Lawn in 2010 ,Rahic in 2018 they are treated almost as the man who shot Bambi. He was well backed at Scunthorpe but another losing run has done for him.

Get real mate did you see their second goal? O'connor literally ran away from the attacker. How does a manager stop that from happening?

There isnt one decent manager in the UK that could turn this shower of proverbial around. Blaming the manager is not the answer.

Banbrotam in slagging off City icon McCall shocker.

I sometimes wonder if he and Park are city fans at all. are you on here posing as a City fan but saying things no sane City fan would say, to see the reaction for a laugh? that's what it looks like most of the time. between this and saying that Akpan can thrive under Bowyer's style of management despite him been the complete opposite of Bowyer's style of player one could be forgiven for thinking you are absolutely off your rocker. or blind.

anyway - McCall isn't going to come back anyway, so it's a bit of a moot point. I rate him, think he can be successful and I'd take him back with open arms given how he was royally shafted last time and yet still achieved big things.
wherever he finds himself next I sincerely hope he rams a few people's disrespectful comments down their throats and proves a point.

Stuart is one of my all time favourite City players. He is a true legend. He undoubtedly has a very deep bond with City.

However there is always a danger, of the equivalent of mixing ‘business and pleasure’.

If Stuart returned, it would probably lead to him being sacked again in the future.

    Exceptionally few managers retire.

If he were appointed and then whilst in charge went to another club, then it would be seen as a betrayal. Arsene Wenger was virtually pushed out of Arsenal.

So l would rather that he did not become the manager as it has the potential to damage his playing legacy!

Supporters who are now in their early 20’s or younger will have no real memory of his playing days and repeated returns to the club, will have the potential to tarnish his reputation.

Time to move on. If Stuart were to return in a none playing capacity, or a role equivalent to that which Bobby Charlton has at Manchester United, all well and good, but as a manager, then it is a no for me.

Nah, move on. Maybe as Director of Football or fronting a consortium to buy the club.

I would be in two minds. He would probably be the best bet to galvanise fans and sell ST's. However, he has still to have any success in English football as a manager, and I would prefer Bowyer or Hurst for that reason

Are you sure it wasn't Bowyer who asked to review things after the season ended?

Why would Parky or McCall come and work for Rupp though. Parky didnt fancy it last time he was here and McCall was sacked.

Before anyone says it was all down to Rahic, not so sure about that. Rupp was equally responsible.

Now if we have new owners in place, that might be different.

I would say Bowyer in pole position, if he wants the gig extending, if there is no change of ownership

That ship has sailed. Sadly. Gutted for him it didn’t work out at Scunny, he got so close to the dream of taking us up, a dream for him and fans alike. Why he would even consider returning and working under the current owner, I’ve no idea. He’d probably be better focussing on helping the current scottish national set up. Owes us nothing, maybe one day he’ll return in some capacity or other, at least whatever happens we know he really gives a shit about the club and its supporters. Not sure there are many we can say that about, these days.

I'd rather have a club that thought logically rather than emotionally.

Yep. Fine margins. Always on the wrong side of them though.

Top 6 but there were about 3 teams behind us who all had 2 or 3 games in hand. Detail, detail though I suppose. You are factually correct.

Still not the point though. Never left a club in a better position, no amazing cup wins, no honours, no achievements.

Pretty poor return for an 11 year managerial career.
