I haven’t looked at Portsmouth current ownership but is it a few very rich people owning the majority with fans owning a small percentage?

 

Don’t often post on here but read stuff from time to time. But this is getting boring now. What do people expect from getting a new owner, and what makes people think Rupp has done adams dirty in terms of budget? Not sure where any of this comes from. I’d say, on paper, we’ve got a squad that should be going up. They’re under performing and that’s on Adams, the man by the way who prides himself on performing with a low budget. That being said I’m by no means ‘Adams Out’, he needs time and maybe a couple of players and I can see us kicking on in this league, which I could never see happening with the the likes of bowyer. Throwing money at a team doesn’t guarantee success, and we’re not in a position to be making that gamble. Look what happened last time we did that, instant relegation. And look at Salford who spent money and put together a decent team. They’re below us.

 

I've never heard that one before, but the fact remains Jack told a meeting of Bradford City fans we were strong enough to go up (as we'd just bought Micky Kennedy from Portsmouth) without extra bodies which turned out to be wrong and IMO was short sighted by the board at the time.
Both Curle & Townsend went on to have very good careers, he would have got a return on his investment, unfortunately we never got another sniff of success until Geoff and the Rhodes family got involved.
@Bantam-in-Greece who was also at that meeting offered Jack a £20 bet that both McCall & Hendrie wouldn't be at the club the following season if we did not achieve promotion and Jack declined the bet, the rest is history.

 

yeah just read the article in the T&A about January window. Sounds like he's going to try and get some outs too. Hopefully Watt can command a hefty fee.

The way I feel, the season can finish tomorrow. It's over. it's not my club anymore. Rupp/Sparks & Co can sign as many £600 a week rejects as they want. They can get on with it.

The club not being good at football is rather different to the club having a bad reputation.

 

Season’s far from done. Decent run could easily put us in the play offs. More of the same and we might need to start looking over our shoulders.

Which it is depends on Rupp’s pockets and Del Boy’s scouting and coaching

 

What worries me is that Sparks seems to believe social media is real life!!

 

The answer is we either;

1. We meekly accept it and be grateful we've got a club (ala parkbantam) whilst continually moaning on BT that nothing will change.

2. We stop buying season tickets, stop attending completely and find something else to do on a Saturday.

3. The fans get together and organise initiatives to try and force through a sale from Rupp such as boycotts and demonstrations. Perhaps even a fly over if we can find an organiser with the bollocks to put the plane in the air.

Everyone, I suppose, has to make their own choice.

We're spending what the club is asking.

You can't blame cheap tickets for the decisions Stefan Rupp has been making, that's utter nonsense.

We have easily as much money as our opponents in League Two.

 

What we see on the pitch week in week out is the direct result of Club management.Players are not blameless either but they were scouted and brought in to do a job. So how much time are we prepared to see our team underperforming in a League where all teams are of a similar poor standard. It is more of a feeling of needing blind faith and optimism rather than witnessing the rebirth we were promised. Time for another reset,I'm not sure, but change has to happen and be a priority.

Of course you can. If the dozy so and so bad never bought the club when he has no interest in football we’d not be in this league with this team or manager. He’s the owner whatever happens in his business he is negligible for.

 

Agree-whatever money is available it has to be spent wisely and then not play new players so out of position that they have no influence on the game whatsoever. Bizarre way to set a team up .

 

Presume by the fact he is still our owner he has a modicum of commitment
The fact he has "lent us" 1.5 million interest free is an annomily he has loaned one of his struggling companies funds possibly to keep it afloat
The us you refer to pressumably the fans have next to no input into the club it's Mr Rupps train set lock stock and barrel
Remember Mr Rupp is our sole owner Mr Lawn was joint owner and his partner either wouldn't or couldn't match his investment in his shoes I would without complete control have wanted some return on my cash

 

Which of these is Rupp currently not doing?
