Starting 11 as it stands

Think I’ll wait until the guys have played a few pre-season games first before I comment on the starting XI.

Oh, wait a minute...... I’ll just have to wait until Shrewsbury instead

 

Just out of interest, how many friendlies do you believe the actual starting XI will get before the opening game?

To the best of my knowledge, it has always been circa 3-4 games - which is what they’ll have had come the Shrews opener.

“In 2012/13, we fulfilled the following fixtures;
(A) v Tadcaster - won 7-1. Most of the fit 1st team players played 45mins

(A) v Wexford Youths - won 4-0. Most of the 1st team squad played 60mins or played the final 30mins

(A) v Bray Wanderers - won 2-1. Majority of the 1st team played a min of 57mins and were subbed for the remaining 1st team players.

(A) v Guiseley - won 4-0. The 1st team started this game and only 1 sub made at half time. A few more changes occurred in the 78th min.

(H) v Bury - lost 3-0. Started with the majority of our 1st team starting XI. Made a couple of changes at half time and further changes in the 2nd half

(A) v BPA - lost 3-1.A smattering of 1st team squad, made up with trialists and reserves”

 

Well, that's an improvement on the playoff seasons when you said we'd be relegation candidates.

 

Think we will be touching cloth with relegation at times.
