Why no point? I presume this means that you have not seen many of new players in action which makes it difficult to understand your dismissals of the entire squad. I would agree Charlie being sold makes us weaker although you would expect him to be replaced, this will obviously be an important signing. I don't think I can agree mid table at best as not seen enough to back this up and don't want to make throw away comments about how bad we will are. I will say I am happier than I was a month or so ago but still a little apprehensive about the season

To be fair, Sean Scannell would look out of place between Donny Osmond and David Cassidy

Agree we were so weak, we finished up as relegation fodder. However, we have changed the situation completely with what looks a good strong mix. Might be completely wrong and time will tell but at least try to be a bit optimistic. Sit back, savour a nice drop of what you fancy and SMILE.

Good luck with that. He’s not been fully fit in the 18mths he’s been at City

That’s true but this preseason, prior to coming back for preseason training he’s been in Dubai training with a world renowned fitness coach off his own back so credit to him for that. Hopefully he can push on now this season

Why would he be happy with Scottish players or those that play Rugby Union?

You’re the complete opposite of Park and you are both equally frustrating. He’s just too ‘happy clapping’ and you’re just a miserable, pessimistic sod

That RWB didn’t do well at Sheffield United. He was on the bench for the first 3 games. He made his debut against Peterborough when coming on for the final minute, in central midfield. His one and only start for them was against Bristol Rovers, when he played as a right-sided midfielder. He was back on the bench for their next game, before picking up his injury in training.

He's unproven at this level and that’s why some of us are cautious

True, but just a couple of weeks later and he’s out injured again. Missed the York and Sheffield United games. Seems his hard work in Dubai hasn’t stopped him from being injury prone

You’re wrong. He admitted on Twitter that he had picked up a “slight knock”. Regardless of how long it will keep him out, he was injured enough to miss the mid-week game(s)

A slight knock isn't the same as an injury. It's very very common amongst professional athletes and in most cases is nothing to worry about. Collins must have listed about 7 or 8 players who were missing through 'knocks' in an interview prior to one of our pre season friendlies.

After reading Collins comments in today’s T&A, I’m more concerned we end up like Bury last season. On paper a really strong squad, in reality relegation material.

What he’s doing, in preparation for season is risky. Start off slowly (as he’s aluded to) and the negativity will return.

Gotta sign a LB imo. Chickson not good enough. We don’t seem to have strength in depth on both sides in that position. I don’t want to see Killgallon used as a makeshift fullback like he has been. This season, oppo wingers will tear him a new one.

I'm not convinced that it should even be termed a 'strong squad' as yet. Imo we are still lacking a conventional full back (rather than wing back); another body in midfield and two strikers, assuming that Wyke goes elsewhere. And whilst that might provide a decent squad with both quality and depth to cover for injuries, loss of form etc, it still has to be transferred from being written on paper to playing on grass. And so far, we've not fully seen that transition. Still, there's 12 days to go before kick off!
