So now what....Italy?

Looks fantastic, no annual leave left for this year but became of this thread I’ve persuaded the missus to go next year.

 

You won't regret going to Lucca. As well as the picturesque architecture the food is really good, as is the shopping.

 

My favourite country to visit is Italy.

Loved everywhere I've been from Lake Garda in the North to the Amalfi Coast in the south.

The only place that left me underwhelmed was Milan. Thankfully only spent one day there and it was half a day too long

 

And the women…

 

We traveled to stay at Lucca on my last birthday with a 0. I went with the girls spent 4 nights. We had a fabulous time. Loads of places to visit, walked most of the way round on the top of the walls. We went to a concert in a church featuring Puccini. However, they do great street concerts.

Determined to take the OH at some point.

A fine specimen, decent size for a 9 week old...

 

She’s a looker and yes you are right, she’s quite thick set and heavy with it.

Should be an interesting few months! The wife will enjoy training her.

Mia was very wary last night but has been a lot less stand offish today….but still keeping a slight distance

I know , deep down I’m a softie…Thanks …we will hopefully enjoy her as much as our other lab.

We went to Lucca in 2019. Stunning place, stayed there for a week and used it as base to go to Pisa, Florence, and other places. The amphitheatre is absolutely marvellous and we ate there a couple of times.

See @Bigrod I can do culture ! Off to Verona this year. Downside is it's September so may well miss a home match.

 

It is. Very little in the way of traffic inside the walls and they are still complete so you can walk or cycle around the top. Good base for places like Pisa, Florence, San Gimingano, Sienna etc and totally unspoilt. The train service in Italy makes us look like we still travel on Stephenson's Rocket.

The place we stayed had no bar, so at 4pm every day they wheeled out bottles of Peroni, prosecco and snacks for the guests, all of which was free. Would highly recommend it, and that's from someone who never thought the idea of Italy was appealing.

 

Yes it sounds fantastic. My other half’s cousin who is French is married to a Northern Italian chap so trying to get things in place for next year already.
I did know their trains were excellent, it’s an absolute travesty that especially in the north here we get shafted. We only got rid of pacer trains last year that was designed as a 5 year stop gap from the 1980s. I digress too much, but the Peroni, scenery, food and tranquility has got me fully sold!

 

How could you not be with a beautiful puppy. She is adorable. Keep us updated on her progress.

 

Will do, wife started training her today. Our existing lab is wary one minute and a mother hen the next.

 

Whenever we have had 2 of different ages we never had any problems, all falls into place...

 

I agree Tony, it’s only a few hours…Little un keeps nicking the jealously guarded toys…..It’s funny!
