Smoke Bombs - Who in their right minds would glorify this?

It isn't "faux outrage" as you put it.
Read the comments of people who were there and then ask the question again. I fortunately wasn't there but know enough now about PTSD to realise that your question is insensitive to say the least.

 

I must be getting old cause I really do not understand the attraction to these smoke bombs and what enjoyment people get from them
Am really looking forward to tomorrow picking 3 friends up then heading to Barnsley stopping for a full Yorkshire breakfast en route then heading into the town centre for a few pints and hopefully a bit of good natured banter with the locals then to the match to cheer the boys on to Victory
After match drinks again with the locals to discuss what we have just seen before a good meal and heading home again A great day out without the need for any "pyrotechnics" If people feel the need to bring our colors to the match wear the club hat scarves shirts etc

I asked if anyone is genuinely affected. I’m not condoning there use, far from it. So yes, spare me the faux outrage.

 

I think you'll find that someone has quoted instances where people have been affected by them.

 

I do agree with this to some extent. Part of me always feels uneasy when folk link anything to the fire disaster.

 

Unfortunately even if these clowns set them off around the area where they are stood (which they don't) they usually throw them, into someone else's area, it depends on the away end they can linger and they are not pleasant, I'd prefer them not to be used and hope the authorities at Barnsley actually catch some fans trying to get into the game with smoke bombs and they get long bans.

 

Not everyone will admit it if they are and some won’t know until something randomly triggers it ie the smell of smoke. It might not have to be the first time. Could just suddenly happen. As flares don’t really add anything why risk that with fellow supporters and set one off unless you are very selfish and just don’t care

At Rochdale I had my 7, 10 and 13 year olds with me. When the plebs started kicking off I was sorting the younger ones out to get ready to move to the other end (shouldn’t have to), when the flare / smoke bomb whatever that City fans threw in the home end got lobbed back and hit my 13 year old.
He was fine, apart from all three feeling sick from inhaling the smoke.
If I’m ever on my own and had a single pint I wouldn’t want to be the person near me who decides they’re a good idea!

I was in a very bad mood yesterday, so maybe I didn’t get my point across the way I would’ve have liked, or maybe I shouldn’t have made the point at all. But feck it, I’ll carry on anyway.

The stoic, heroic, no fanfare way this club handled itself after the fire, and continues to do so, makes me fiercely proud of being a Bradford City fan. Really proud!

So I’ll tell you what’s c***ish, mate. This middle England, wishy washy nonsense that seems to addle some people’s brains more and more these days, you see similar type behaviour that come from these poppy fascists, that like to piss and moan about who’s not allowing poppys to be sold, or who’s not wearing one. You know the type, they probably bought one of those tasteless hoodies, then accused anybody who dare say they were tasteless of being disrespectful.

Now, the use of these pyros is annoying, pathetic, childish. Use whatever pejorative you like. But to me, they’re just knobhead kids, being knobhead kids, I don’t think they they’re trying to be disrespectful at all. They’re just acting like I did at that age, like knobheads.
