The football under Parky was spirited and connected with the fans we have, but I wouldn’t call it entertaining.

Ironically, the most entertaining football we’ve played for years, was with this shower in December

 

My memory could be clouded by the great cup games and play off win, but when I think of Parky's teams I think of solid, athletic, attacking and together.

 

3 of those 4, definitely. Attacking? Not so sure. I’d say ‘pragmatic’, and built to play to our strengths.

Yep. The left side was the more attacking one, no doubt. Darby and McMahon on the other side though....

It was balanced. And I’d take it all day long right now. Parky gave me some of my greatest memories watching city. I just wouldn’t call the football itself routinely entertaining

 

Agree. Just a modern day version of that side would do me right now.

 

“Back off”? What is this, a nursery? He made a point so I asked him to explain his justifications as to why he thought 4 very average (and in 1 case, a player yet to make 5 senior games), would average nearly £4k a week each.

His response was that he had no intention of debating the point with me, hence my “put up or shut up response back”. How is this ANY different to the vast number of ‘tit-for-tat’ arguments on here? The likes of Fordy and Park for example, Ricc and whoever challenges him. None of those get accused of being antagonistic or aggressive!

My point was valid. He couldn’t answer because he knows no more than the rest of us and in some cases less. But he posts as though his “knowledge” is factual and must be believed. Why shouldn’t that be challenged?

By the way, that poster that mentioned my bans just happens to be the same as the person I was ‘being antagonistic and aggressive towards” in your view.

As I say, my response to him is no different than about 70% of the replies on here. Care to advise them to back off too? It didn’t break any rules so I’m not sure why I’d be banned or even warned.

Yep and I’m the only one? You do know that to debate a point, one doesn’t just accept the first come back and say “ok, you’ve made your point, I disagree, but let’s move on”? That isn’t how debates go..... as well you and others know as many threads wouldn’t end up in double figures..!

 

I'd agree with that. His teams were spirited and competitive above anything else. At times the football was dour but I don't ever remember feeling we had given up.

 

His posts read as you want them to read. He certainly doesn’t come across as arrogant or aggressive, in my view. Why does he have to put or shut up? His view is just that, a stand-alone view point you can either agree or not.

Why do you have to be so arrogant? Now you for your part don’t think you are, that is your view which you are entitled to have. What you can’t do on a public forum is constantly argue and bait other posters, and at some point you do have to back off and agree to disagree. Until we have concrete evidence and I suspect on players wages we never will everyone can speculate.

 

Aren't you expecting these eastern European Bradfordians to do what you didn't do though? They'll be wearing their Legia Warsaw kits (or whoever) in the playgrounds of Bradford like you wore a City kit in Oz. IMO, the only way to attract new supporters is by being successful, nobody (in their right minds) is going to pay £25 to watch what we were served up yesterday.

 

Of course people can speculate but he constantly posts his ‘speculation’ as fact. Read some back. Most of the time he doesn’t say “I believe” or “I think”. He has challenged people who disagree with his posts. As I say, he often makes out he’s giving fact, not a view.

You have only recently started accusing me of being arrogant. I wonder why? Perhaps you like jumping on bandwagons? I’ve had run-ins with 4-5 posters on here. Most people do. But the one thing I’ll add is that it takes 2 to argue. I’m not alone.

There are more people that I haven’t had a spat with on here than those I have. Ask them if they find me aggressive, antagonistic or arrogant. Perhaps someone got you a dictionary for Christmas and you just want to show off the number of adjectives you can call me beginning with ‘A’?

I was trying to offer you advice, but you clearly don’t want it, and on that note I will jump off the ‘we all hate @BoingBoing’ bandwagon and continue improving my education with my trusty dictionary

 

I agree with you mate. But I think the club could really target this market (ala quid a kid with an adult). If you can develop the affinity or connection to their local club, you will have the next generation on board. If you get the kid hooked, someone has to accompany them to matches.

And that is the problem people and fans think we should be a lot higher with our fan base but because of the price we pay we are probably just about punching our weight in league one.
Question is if we raised prices to average for the league gates would drop alarmingly and so would other revenues. So the question is would we be any better off. Success is the only way to increase revenues with either way

 

I suspect @Halfmanhalfbiscuit will be hoping these people will be wearing the away kit of a neighboring capital city team
