So we just carry on in lockdown indefinitely?

if it is the only thing that controls it then it is either that or just accept large numbers of deaths

We have to have a better strategy long term than just lockdowns, its why we are vaccinating 1000s every day.

What do we do about the business that will go under including maybe Bradford City, the mental health of people, schooling, uni's, domestic violence, housing marketing etc.

Lockdowns only work short term and create bigger issues.

Once phase 1 of vaccinations are complete then the government will lose all justification of lockdowns or any kind of social distancing for that matter. I’m still hopeful we’ll see some live football at VP this season

From what I am hearing that they wont crowds back this year in mass numbers. Might be 2k again.

You'll be disappointed if you think crowds will be back by the end of the season though.

No chance of live football this season.

The government don't know how to get primary kids back to school and @Loyalbantam@Loyalbantam thinks football fans will go back before the end of the season.

    Madness thought.

I don’t think they are going to make that mistake again I think things will be very slow to open

Definitely not this season but there is no way we cannot be open to some extent come the start of the season. If we haven't done by then i'll expect this useless government to want to keep us in lockdown till next year.

Once the priority groups have been vaccinated, case numbers should be of no relevance. It should only be about hospitalisation and death rates.

I didn’t say which numbers. So you agree if after the vaccinations they open things back up and hospitalisation sand death rates go back up to high levels then they will have justification to lockdown again

They can't go back up when the vaccinations are done otherwise the vaccinations aren't working.

all depends on the variants and the vaccines capability to cope with them. Anything could happen in next 6 months

They had crowds at the super bowl last night and that's good enough for me. Sick of this scaremongering now. I've seen crowds in enough places now to tell me we should be seeing crowds at football in 7 or 8 months time.

You stick yourself in lockdown, I'll go and watch football. I'll take my chance when the vaccination numbers are up. This idea we should still have things like pubs, restaurants and sport events completely lockdown still in 8 months time is completely absurd. Or are we just gonna go into next year or the year after? Or are we just vaccinating people for the hell of it? If all it means is another year of lockdown then we might as well not bother.
