I don't think even you know what you're talking about now.

would you rather we raise less income than more? thats just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Dead right in a low wage city two adults and two children is a small fortune.

Ok, going by the rationale that I have a ‘skill’ of budgeting, why do those that can’t afford to stump up the full amounts, simply take advantage of the club’s finance offer? They wouldn’t need to learn to budget then as the money would simply be taken from their accounts.

At the end of the day, most are not renewing because they are aggrieved with the way the club has been taken since they last renewed. Leaving it to the last minute serves no sense but just makes it difficult for the club to set a budget that the manager can start planning with

“A few years ago”. “Sold about another 6 thousand tickets”. Think you’ve had another bump to the head mate.

The only time we had a late surge as big as that was last summer when we picked up some momentum on the last few of days of sales.

If it was that simple, why would the club be ‘cutting off their nose to spite their face’? Your argument is based on your belief and not actual facts. The deadline was extended for a couple of weeks (saving the purchaser £30 for an adult ticket). We only sold a small amount more. Those that are still interested can still renew before May 4th, so what is stopping them? Why would they suddenly, come May 5th think, what the hell, let’s go renew afterall?

Isn’t there an interest charge on those fans who choose the credit route?

I agree most fans are not renewing because of poor form. I know it makes it difficult for the club to start to organise for next season, but surely that is the club’s dilemma, ppl who can’t budget or are strapped will hardly give that a second thought when considering purchasing a ticket. They struggle to organise their own budget without trying to think about how city organise there finances.

Look all I am saying have a thought for a fellow fan who is trying to purchase tickets albeit on the very last day.

In which case, they wouldn’t be committing to watching football anyway? If I was on a low wage and struggling to budget for 2 adults and 2 children, I wouldn’t be forking out to watch my club anyway.

And if I was, changing the deadline isn’t going to make any difference to me

I have some sympathy for him if it was a technical glitch that stopped him renewing and I would hope the club honour it. If he’s just trying it on, then I have no sympathy.

But my point is more about scrapping or extending deadlines. If I worked in manufacturing and had a deadline to supply my goods, would the buyer simply say, yeah give me them when you’re ready? No, they wouldn’t.

We had a deadline for tickets 3 or 4 years a do admittedly there was some ambiguity about dates and that . But some on here were saying the same as you I e mailed the club myself to try and influence and they extended and sold about another 6 thousand. And every time they extend they sell more. Even this time they sold over 2 thousand. If it brings in more people why not?

Sorry Park but it is rubbish. Last season we got just over 19k. The season before that we got just over 16.5k fans and the year before less again.

If you are claiming we sold an extra 6k after the deadline, that means we must have sold only 9-10k before the deadline. I simply do not recall that ever happening. A couple of thousand more, perhaps, but not 6k

Yes, it was 10% of the ticket cost. So for an adult, they would pay £185.90 which is still less than the current price of £199 and means a purchaser can spread the cost over the season

You have never been to a game in Holland, Belgium or Germany OK ?
    Bless you. ;)
It's actually great. What they can't fit or accommodate inside the ground, then happens outside.
Side stalls of activity (Fair ground type) various eaterie stalls, and cheap merchandise.
Inside the ground ......... Some had amateur trapeze type artists.
ALWAYS the dancing girls, in national dress.
Plus other 10 minute 'side shows'.

All in all, it made turning up early worthwhile.
As I believe .......... The 'Acts' were not paid - they gained EXPOSURE. :)

Although I think they word it as an 'admin' fee. I had a 'thin file' because I'd never had any credit-cards or loans, mobile contracts or any sort of credit. So I took advantage of the finance deal for the last few years just to build up my credit. I think for the additional cost it's worth it. I wonder how many people actually take advantage of it though, and at such a small fee, why it is worth doing for Zebra Finance or whatever they are called.

    Because it would be cheap.

You’re just looking down your nose at folk that aren’t as “uber” as you. That’s fine but the club can’t afford to think like that.

There is no logical point even having the tickets on sale after the £199 deadline has passed. Nobody is going to pay £299 for a season ticket. It's not really a sale either, our clubs whole ethos and marketing over the past few seasons is cheap affordable football. £299 ain't cheap so why have the price set at that?

What happens if someones circumstances change after £199 deadline? Maybe moving to a job that allows more access to live games at Valley Parade? Or maybe a change in a families expendable income? if they rang the club and said they would be willing to pay £199 but not £299 even after the deadline has passed, would the club say no? Better to have the £199 in your bank account than nothing.

They didn’t extend it when the deal was almost up, it was a couple of weeks before the deadline so all it did was move the last minute spike. That spike was likely to happen anyway as the club had messed around so much with deadlines that year it was obvious they would move it again.

The previous owners made a rod for their own back with constantly changing deadlines. No one believes any deadline the club says which is why people leave it right to the wire as they will have been expecting it to move again.

I was expecting it to shift to May 6th to be honest because that is what the club are know for doing.
