Just been reading on Facebook about someone who tried to buy tickets on the fnal day (I don’t know why people leave it till the last minute) and couldn’t buy 4 tickets. They have contacted the club who say they working their way through a backlog of e-mails. All this says to me once again that early deadlines cuts down sales and should be extended

Neither do I . Somebody last night said he had paid the higher rate because he was to late. Like you I have no sympathy I do still think if we spread the sale time into the summer we would sell another couple of thousand tickets especially if the improved form continues. It’s not as if we are going to sell many more at a higher price

we aren't going to sell any tickets at £299 so why don't the club extend the cheap ticket deadline- perhaps until the end of the season, and then promise to put every single penny made from season tickets from now until the revised deadline directly into the playing budget? We aren't going to lose out financially because any purchases will be additional (if folk haven't renewed at £299 they never were) and it could encourage those who haven't renewed to renew, thus increasing the budget.

Was it couldn’t buy 4 tickets full stop or couldn’t buy 4 together. If it is the second then the club recommend buying and moving in May.

Personally I think they should have the cut off for renewals but keep the price lower for a week or so after but some on here argued against that.

Tickets went on sale on 7 March at £169 (adult) for 1month. They then agreed to extend this by a couple of weeks, allowing fans to buy at the discount until 16 April. The argument that people get paid monthly is weak. Since 7 March, everybody getting paid monthly would have received their pay by now, so why the need to extend it?

And if those trying to buy at the last minute, miss out, it will only cost them an extra £30 for the privilege anyway. May act as a wake up call to stop fannying around next season.

I disagree that we should scrap deadlines. The club reward fans for committing early and if you are really bothered, you would renew as early as funds allow.

because there's more chance they'd sell more, thus raising more income. seems a fair enough argument for extending the deadline to me.

The club needs all the money it can get. In a perfect world I would agree with you but history shows if you extend the deadline more people buy

What about the scenario that he didn’t have the money until the last day?? Just a little kindness about someone else’s predicament. We live in a city where people of wealth are as rare as hens teeth.

Says who? If I want to buy a product and there is a sale on, I don’t wait until the last day of the sale to make the purchase. And I wouldn’t expect the sale to last forever, just so some people can take their time.

There is no evidence to suggest fans will renew if we extend the deadline again

Does it? What history is that? Fans can pay £169 for 6wks or £199 for a further couple of weeks. If fans haven’t renewed by then, bearing in mind our last game is on May5th, they aren’t going to renew afterwards..

Disagree. My ‘wealth’ isn’t great, but I know I will renew (health committed), every season. I also know that tickets will be on sale around March/April every year, so I put £15 a month away to cover. And on the one time when I had to dip into that, I simply asked my family to give cash/gift voucher for Christmas and Birthday so I had enough to cover.

Leaving it until the last day is a lame excuse. Besides, the club even offer a finance deal now to make it even easier for fans to budget

football fans are fickle as anything. couple more wins, a decent signing - if it's still cheap they'd renew.

    probably not if its £299.

just because you're uber and bought in the first 5 minutes doesn't mean everyone is, and personally I'd rather the club sold as many possible, and raised as much income as possible. and there's more chance of doing just that if they keep prices low. no one is going to buy at £299 if they haven't already, where as theres every chance if it stayed low.

How did you learn how to plan saving and organise your money? All I am saying is that for some people who were not taught those skills and they live from week to week, trying to get enough money together to purchase season tickets might be very difficult. He is a city fan, and yes we would all like it if they purchased their tickets in an orderly fashion once put on sale, but the old saying rings true ‘ walk a mile in the other persons moccasins before coming to judgement’

Fans or consumers need to have faith in a product. Ours was underwhelming at the close of deadline day - so where's the attraction ?
I have long said that the matchday 'experience' is lacking.
Are we to renew as a sense of habit or duty ? Christ - give your customers what they want - A day to remember !!
I have attended just eight Home games, and two Away games, this season, and will possibly only fit one more Home game in. But I have paid full price for that, and have no gripes - other than the lack of match 'experience'.
Now, I attended many a festival in Germany, and all were great, in generating crowds, and keeping them. MY issue is - why hasn't Edin tried to do this at VP ? ............... It beggars belief !!

So, based on the statement this week from Grayson, how do you anticipate those conversations going.?

“Well Simon, we have fixed the problems with the drainage under the pitch and also issues where we train. We will have good surfaces to train on and play on”.

“But in relation to budget, I can’t give you a figure because ticket sales are still ongoing. You can have what we have sold so far, but we may/may not add to this”.

“Do we have a deal”? “Simon, where are you going? Simonnnnn...???”

I remember having a discussion on here a few years a go when sales were low the person who I can’t remember who said we should extend. We did and sold about another 6 thousand tickets. Very few people buy at the higher rate so why not leav it open for a few weeks we have nothing to lose

and of course, not everyone is hardcore enough to buy every single year no matter what. if the deadline hadn't been extended a couple of week I wouldn't got one, and I've been a holder for years, and am obviously passionate enough to spend my time talking about City on an online forum.

to suggest that we wouldn't sell any more leaving it cheap than if we raised the prices to £299 is just talking shit.
