Sorry mate, I didn’t think “he was a prospect” and “he’s had a string of injuries” actually described his style of play. Admittedly, you did say he was like a Colbeck with class.

Possibly. But could McGowan fill in there if required?

But if we are going down the wing-back route, I wouldn’t think McGowan would fill in. We have Wood, Chicksen and Robinson for the left and only Riley and, at a push, McGowan on the other.

 

I agree. Id prefer another option there.

 

Riley could be the back up right back sooner than he thinks

 

O'Connor can play right back as well as CH and Defensive Midfielder.

Just hasnt impressed me so far, not that he has to of course.. Ive just found him a bit sloppy with the ball and caught out of position a lot both at the guiseley game and tonight. Dont get me wrong made a couple of good tackles but in that formation we could be easily got at if he is not at the races

 

But he was on the books of Man U from a kid up until turning 23. He “can’t” be a poor player

 

As a wing-back? Or do we no longer think we will go down that route afterall?

With hindsight (tonight’s injury) maybe not, but prior to that I’d have agreed.
Although the flip side is, maybe we’re spending on the understanding we’ll be getting a fee coming in?

Scannell is our longest serving player (signed in summer of 2012).

He's been a great servant as a Club man and really good at interaction with fans and especially with kids at community projects etc.

Lovely lad who I've had the pleasure to meet several times.

Not featured so much in the last two years due to injury but 'scanz' kept us up in the Championship for a few years with some great performances, carrying the team (including Nahki).

Has a great knack of beating a man and then another one or two when running down the wing and putting in low crosses to the box.

Scannell needs love though, he is a confidence player but caused huge problems to very good championship sides 2/3 years ago.

Gold young midfielder, scored goals and set them up in our Championship promotion season. Still raw but a very good signing.

Also your rookie manager, Michael Collins. You could see he was leader when he was here at age 21.

Almost the entire 1st half he was left exposed and always had 2 attacking down his side. Was left an almost impossible task. The few times he was 1 on 1, he won the ball.

 

He looked shattered at times.
