How old should they be then?

 

Would you have preferred a Cotterill etc? Regurgitating the same old. It's like we all say that talented coaches are never given a chance in English football but only want other teams to do it not our own. We are Nimbos. Clubs then end up appointing young exciting German managers and we wonder why they are doing that. It's noticeable that when it comes to innovation in business and start ups they are in the majority younger than 23

I can think of plenty of young strikers who have done well. Michael Owen was 19 and acted like he was 60 off the pitch

 

Great talent but plagued with injuries. Looked like on his way under Robins but had a purple patch when Powell (maybe a London thing) came in which endeared him to the fans and confirmed how much talent he has. Winger generally but strong and tackles hard. His bins are a mess though apparently. He doesn't recycle to the standard required in the Holme Valley.

Yep, keep Wyke or find a decent replacement, with the obvious back up keeper.
Assuming Scannel signs, I’d have been delighted with this squad if offered it at the start of the summer.
More than pleasantly surprised, particularly with the last four or five signings!

 

I wonder if Wyke might be persuaded to sign an extension after seeing the calibre of player coming through the door. Hopefully he’ll get more chances and better service than he’s ever had during his spell at our club.

 

Who was comparing Miller with those players? They were put forward as examples of 19 year olds that are more than capable of putting the ball in the back of the net to show that if you are good enough, you are old enough. Nobody is suggesting Miller is in the same category of those players in terms of ability and skill but has he shown in the last couple of season that he is good enough for league 1? I would argue yes he has.

 

Christ I hope we don't get panned for five and he drops the pen and just walks out.

I’ve never seen Scannell play, but from listening to the radio on a Saturday when City are away, Scannell’s name is one that often cropped up when they were talking about Town. He seems to have been there for years and ultimately he’s played nearly 300 games at Championship level. The guy is obviously no mug to have played that number of games in the second tier. Would be a cracking signing if it came off.
