Should Wyke somehow stay, he's going to score plenty next season with Payne and Scannell supplying him.

All Edin has to do now is add a decent replacement for Wyke and keep out of the limelight and I'll be almost converted.

The small budget thing seems to have become a bit of a myth, I think we had a decent one last year just spent it in the wrong ways. They are probably also planning for Wyke to go.

 

Edin and Stefan are finally happy with the team they have in place.. it can make all the difference when it comes to spending money

 

Possibly because it had no competition..... Can’t think of many Italian (?) or English restaurants in those days. It was, has been said before.... Chicken or Scampi in a basket in most pubs, bacon butties in Stans cafe, or a millions of top quality fish and chip shops.

Very very true. Both the Hudds lads will be on big salaries I bet.

Only a very mobile centre forward to go ( if/ when CW goes) and we are up there with anyone’s squad (which has depth in spades)

I said I'd believe it when I see it and there it is. Excellent signing which both Edin & Collins deserve credit for.

If you look at the direct comparisons on last season then we are looking better. There's still the question of whether it can click together but Scannell added to Payne, Akpan, O'Connor, Riley, O'Donnell - these are players with genuine capability.

Payne and Scannell are excellent additions. the midfield looks the strongest it has in many a year all across the park, if McGowan continues the form he showed in the games he did play for us, and Joe Riley shows the ability he did to get first team action at Man United under Van Gaal we will be looking pretty useful at the back aswell.

Wyke or another proven goal scorer and we look pretty strong, to be fair.

 

Guisseppe's backyard is the only other I can think of but I doubt it was around in 1970, Grosvenor Steak House at the top of Ivegate, Berni Inn on Hall Ings (where Broadway is now). Eating out was a rarity back in the day. Scampi at Chips at the Rock & Heiffer was the height of our ambition.

We've come a long way, I ate at the Ivy on Saturday and I'm not even sure the steak was as nice as what I remember at the Little HOuse.

I have had many a plate from quite a number of so called quality restaurants in a few parts of the globe....mostly pretentious crap. **headbang
