    It wasn't a threat, I just felt he was being over abusive and disrespectful towards McCall while hiding behind this forum. There is no need to be abusive towards the guy. Aaron can make is point without doing that.

    If it upsets you so much get me banned from here. Abuse cuts both ways, if someone dishes it out they should be prepared to take it back.

    Had we gone with a standard 4-4-2 and picked the right players we would have had a good chance of a result, Playing 3 at the back with players who do not have the discipline or ability to play a system that is vulnerable to any team with pace was just suicide, That McCall thought any different is worrying

    4-4-2 would be even worse with this squad. Our defenders aren't good enough, so we need to go with 3 of them rather than 2. We've got no wingers unless you want to play a sicknote or god forbid, DMH. And we're too weak in midfield to only go with 2 in there. 3-5-2 is probably best for the type of personnel available, they're just very poor players to make it work.

    If you recall the Harrogate game as well, Wood was targeted as Harrogate played many balls into the gap in front of him. He always seemed to be in two minds - either to sit back in a FB role or move to fill the gap as a WB. I don't think he fully understands what is expected of him. And SMc doesn't appear to have drilled that into him or just as importantly, into those around him.

    I heard Klopp talking about wingbacks sometime last season and how he regards then as having to be the hardest working players on the pitch and not many have the skills and attributes to do it well. And the point he waent on to make wasd that the rest of the team particularly the other 3 defenders and the other 3 midfielders have to be very disciplined and well drilled. The inference was that it's very difficult system to play and needs everybody involved, not just the WBs themselves, to be continually adapting their own positions. The Harrogate game proved to me that we're not sufficiently well drilled to stop gaps appearing as we move from an attacking to a defensive setup and vice versa.

    Unfortunately for us, 3-5-2 seems to be SMc's preferred formation and we don't have the players who know how to or have been drilled to play that formation.

    On the Salford website Wellens say City are a physical side (?). He was at the Exeter match but as I didn't watch it I can only assume that those 2 fouls listed in the stats were shockers!

    Our last game too - had beers in Manchester as eldest lad at Uni there. Went to Football Museum, lunch in Spoons, great day out apart from the game - usual stuff really!! But bloody miss it!!!

    Even if that was the case you had a long time to get a good replacement, you got a young kid who has struggled with confidence and finding the net for the last 2 and a bit seasons
