Hope that's the last of BRE we see in a City shirt. I'd play the youth Sikora before BRE

 

Just look at our recruitment:
DMH - Rubbish but given a new contract.
Guthrie - couldn't get in the lowest team in the league but we give him an 18 month contract.
French - non-league for a reason.
Pritchard - non- league for a reason.
Donaldson - clearly past it yet we give him a 2 year contract.
Ismael - serially injured yet we give him a 2 year contract.
Samuels - no goals in the National League and yet he's the last piece in the jigsaw.
Sutton - not wanted by Scunthorpe yet Stuart knows better. A red card walking.
BRE - not wanted by Accrington, ACCRINGTON, but we know better.
Paudie - looked hopeless to me on a first viewing yet we give him a 3 year contract.
Evans - we give him a 2 year contract despite not knowing where he plays.
McCall - another serial failure yet we give him an 18 month contract.
With such truly amateurish recruitment is it any wonder we are where we are.

 

This isn’t unique to Bradford City, every other club is in the same position.

 

Wow, what a miserable and defeatist outlook for the forthcoming game. Yes, there’s been a hell of a lot wrong this season - some quite horrific moments. That said, recent performances and results have indicated rays of light - albeit very small ones.

Of all the negatives of Exeter, and the defending was inexcusably one of them, we still got back in the game and got a draw which most admitted before the game they would be happy with. The second half was mostly an improvement on the first and with a stronger front line we could have perhaps sneaked the win.

Donaldson is getting unfair flack for me. At his age and what’s around him I’m not sure what everyone’s expectations are. For me, certainly in the second half of Exeter, he led the line well and not sure what more he could have done. The issue is more alternative options rather than Donaldson himself. I don’t anticipate he was expecting to be relied upon as much as we have had to since Novak got injured - thankful its he who is fit and not Gutherie.

As for Salford, agree with others in that how we defend from all parts of the pitch is what will make the difference. Concentration and discipline will be important and hope that Sutton (expect him in for Cooke) doesn’t get carried away.

I’d love to think we can sneak it by a goal (1-2 city) but managing my own expectations and will be happy with a draw and a solid performance.

 

It’s so frustrating that all we want is for certain players to do the absolute minimum that’s required of them.Defenders that do the basics(row z if required)midfielders that track their runners and strikers that take chances at a better rate than 1 in 10.
Sounds so easy when you write it down doesn’t it.

 

Why, he didn't want to play for us and told McCall as much, why would we keep him on good money if he didn't give a F about the club.

 

This is getting as bad, if not worse, than the times under Taylor and Jackson. Once Parky had turned us around, I never thought we would ever slump back to those awful days, but here we are again.

Luckily Stuart and Kenny watched them the other night and knew exactly how they play and picked a team tactically based on that which of course has worked well

I’m hoping the unbeaten run continues. I saw things that pleased me against Exeter and things that continue to frustrate me in defence. We are improving, be it slowly but let’s hope there’s more pleasing aspects than frustrations...
